Hey folks - got something to share here: A comic book I've been working on for some time is currently enjoying pretty major success over on Kickstarter. Waypoint, by Jeff Treppel and Jakub Wisniewski, is a very cool, very funny book. Check it out! www.kickstarter.com/projects/way...

We hit a milestone! Things seem to be going pretty well for us over on YouTube. Are we gaining subscribers every five minutes? No. But we DO seem to be experiencing natural organic growth, with folks subscribing because they actually want to watch us. That's a big deal.

Hey folks - big, nerdy thread coming up that's unrelated to the stuff usually I yak about here. There's a new Ghost In The Shell anime on Amazon Prime right now. Some of you may know that I wrote anime reviews for Anime UK News for a few years. And GITS was always one of my favourite properties.

I spent some time fiddling with the Electro Harmonix Oceans 12 pedal this morning. That's an INSANELY powerful stereo reverb engine. Lots of tweakable parameters and input / output options. It's got quite the learning curve. I'm in danger of getting lost in this thing as I write new music.

Two Electro Harmonix guitar pedals - the Deluxe Big Muff and the Oceans 12 reverb.

Absolutely incredible bits of kit!

Not TTRPG stuff, but this is some really cool news all the same. We mentioned in a previous pre-game chat on one of our videos how sad it was to see the die-off of so many cherished print media titles. So to see this is really heartening. More of this, please!

"Some personal news." Media is a collapsing supernova, but bouncing off the satellites is the reborn STARLOG magazine, led by @annaleen.bsky.social. Learn more at STARLOG.com and sign up for my newsletter, The Lodestar, and listen to The STARLOG Podcast, hosted by me & produced by @da7e.com.

I have decide that, to boost engagement on our YouTube uploads, I will be adding 'the BANNED ending they didn't want you to see!' to the end of all our video titles. I keep seeing this nonsense in my feed. It's gutter level ploy for views and clicks. Does my head in.

Apparently we should all be able to read and fully understand a TTRPG core rulebook in a couple of hours or there's something wrong with us. That's a pretty bad take, if ever I've heard one. Not all books are made equal. And neither are the folks reading them. Come on.

I've just finished uploading the finale of The Gramtech Incident to our YouTube channel. It won't go live there for a bit yet, though. However once it is, that'll represent a whopping EIGHT HOUR self-contained campaign for folks to sink their teeth into. I'm quite proud of that.

Last night's episode carried a brief tribute after the credits. I'm told that today would have been Anthony D. Lee's birthday. This card says it all, I think. We owe it to the good guys to make sure they're never forgotten.

Video production throws out some WEIRD issues sometimes. It's been driving me mad for weeks now that rendered videos - despite being appropriately colour managed - have been coming out with a weird blue tint. Turns out that's just on my laptop. Any other device? No issue whatsoever. Wild.

I'm up and awake SUPER late doing final checks on the finale of The Gramtech Incident. It should go out next week. I'm quite enjoying the quietness of the wee small hours. Nothing else going on around me. It's an easy time to get things done. Grabbing a coffee before I get back to it.

I just LOVE it when I discuss some of the work I do on our videos with folks and they tell me to 'just use AI to save time.' No. Absolutely not. Ever. Generative AI is anti-creativity. I'd never funnel any part of the show's production into a slop factory for convenience.

I was feeling good about picking up some cheap guitar pedals via Andertons Music until I remembered they ship via DPD. Woo. Looks like they're going to arrive two days late now. That is an EMBARRASSING level of service. (On DPD's part - Andertons themselves are great.)

🧵If I can be real for a bit, there's something that's been bugging me for a while, and I feel like I need to vent my spleen. Over the last few weeks, I've seen a few videos where YouTubers appear in interviews and say things like 'I hope my viewers realise I'm not being serious when...'
