It’s interesting that Black Sabbath’s “Symptom of the Universe” & Celtic Frost’s “Dethroned Emperor” are from the same era, in that they came out within 10 yrs of one another. [We tend to draw a line in the sand today between 70s proto vs 80s trad — but musically, this was all on the same continuum]

I stand by this — Nothing to do with who QT is as a person, but it’s weird that people still accuse him of ripping off 70s B-movies like it’s some revelation. That cat was outta the bag in ‘92 when Reservoir Dogs came out — by people who’d seen The Killing, City on Fire & The Taking of Pelham 123.

🪦CONNQUERING RIFFS🪦@cravensilverthorn.bsky.social · 7mo agoCouldn’t agree more. With everything moving more digital, we tend to somehow forget that most iconic albums were done pure organically with great quality equipment. Nothing beats the pure crisp sound of a 60s/70s Marshall IMO.

Modern productions have stripped out all the organic, natural sounds of actual humans playing instruments. Make mistakes. Fret buzz. A bum note The spirit of Thrash is high tops, skateboards, beer & weed.
Its all over metal nowadays, not only in Thrash. Modern production has made everything sterile..
I believe the people who put together the timelines of Rhapsody bands/ members are the ones who have what it takes to find out who the zodiac killer is

To me - sounds like virtual amps were maybe used. Trademark lack of grit and power, getting overshadowed by the drums. Great songs. Production didn’t really fit Sodom.
