friend moved over the years from being obsessional about making music to marathoning to yoga and now i think to physical improv. not sure if that was the term of art. i likened it to cuddle puddling which is what seemed to be the final frontier.

my friend who moved to the wilds of northwestern massachusetts and has settled rather comfortably among the new age hippie hipster class made one admission that warmed my heart, she missed one element (im sure others) of life in the city. i broke in joking, "snark?" but that was the actual answer.

decided my friend who dragged me to the beach is like pee wee herman. happy to befriend & low on making judgments based on looks or class. was in search of a lighter at the beach & befriended a friendly couple who came to his aid who were extremely nice but also middle aged outerborough metalheads.

fitbit was not syncing for 3 days w/the app and does not look like they are coming back. at least i didnt lose all my useless data but i am 40000 steps short. yes, im rounding up. prove me wrong, fitbit! i guess its the journey that matters not the steps along the way but fuck that. validate me!

shower thoughts: trying to remember girls names from 35 years ago. came up w/laura, siobahn & stacy. all may be right or none. "transitioned" into memory of a dead friend (wont "" that) who died of cancer w/in 3 or 4 years of college. not close but still regret not being there more in the end.

realized i still had my short/bathing suit on. russian doll made us all wash our feet in the bathtub when we got to their apartment which i was only too happy to do but was a thing. then she vacuumed the shit out of the floor and i got say i had vacuum envy.

funny moments some cringe from beach & brighton yesterday. one of the friends was of russian origin so enjoyed hearing her bust out the mother tongue w/the waitstaff who suddenly found a pittance of respect for us. the money man for his part kept the tip to 18% which for him was an act of rebellion!

oh my god. did all the thing i said i wouldnt do that only i recall saying i wouldnt do. but had a nice time at the beach (riis park is no la jolla shores), hung out in close quarters with the post covids and then had an overpriced russian meal on the boardwalk in brighton beach. helluva good day!

faux pas. got texted to go to the beach. i asked who with not noticing that it was a group text. was hoping it was just friend & son but was w/other family who had covid within the last two weeks & who i expressly said i could do w/o on that account despite it being marginally irrational.
