Live Model Drawing 45.1 Sadly, there won't be any live model drawing sessions until Sept 14th, so I might continue with photo reference drawing. Besides that, I got a really good sitting angle today! I'm still trying to get better at smooth gradients and value control.
Photo Reference Figure Drawing 1.1 Keeping the streak alive! 🔥 It took me an hour to configure a proper brush on digital that I was satisfied with
Live Model Drawing 44.2 I've decided on using B conte for rough sketches and 2B conte for shading. It's still good to shade mid tones with B because it can be easy to get too dark with 2B.
Live Model Drawing 42.2 The laying down poses were pretty tough and I was also at a side angle today. It was a good challenge. Not sure why, but I couldn't get his face right until the 2nd last pose!
Live Model Drawing 41.2 I think the difference between good and great rendering is how accurate and clean you can get during roughs. I struggled with the same proportion problem today as last week. It's easier to gauge proportions when you're sitting on a lower seat while drawing live models.
Live Model Drawing 40.2 Today, I had fun drawing a familiar model. Usually, I sit in front, but recently I've been drawing from a side angle with a different elevation to change things up. This made for a different drawing experience because it changed the way I saw the figure's proportions
Live Model Drawing 39.2 2B is good for shading, but B is better for light sketching and lighter values to convey reflected light. Also, one thing I noted near the end was to make a more clear separation of values between light, medium and dark values because a clear contrast looks better.

Live Model Drawing 38.2 This was a short week for me and I didn't get to the long poses as I had a character turnaround project to complete for the month!
Live Model Drawing 37.2 I'm still not fully used to using the conte stick, but getting better at it. I'm getting a bit better at rendering reflected light
