I’ll be presenting at #ISB2025 tomorrow at 09.10 in Room A1: Measuring Loads & Muscle Activity with AI. Join in if you’d like to hear about predictions of ankle moments from HD-EMG measurements and why we should check if NNs do more than predict the mean of the output data.

#ISB2025 Does marker-based optical motion capture stress participants, and do they walk differently then? This will be answered on Monday,28th 🕝 10:50-11:00 📍 Room C1 💪 Parallel session 2F - Locomotion (Influence of Pain & Perception) Come join :)

Through generous funding from the German Research Foundation, we can support ~6 researchers from underrepresented groups and developing countries who attend the ISB congress in Stockholm and the tutorial “’In the wild’ movement analysis using dynamic simulations”.

Please consider this petition calling to remove carnivorous fish farms as economically sustainable. Scientific evidence shows that they harm the environment and local economies around the world suffer, all just to gain profit for a small group of investors. And don’t eat their fish! fishfarmsout.org

Fish Farms Out

Scientific evidence keeps coming to light on the environmentally damaging aspects of industrial fish farming. For World Ocean Day 2024 take action now to bring it to an end. Fish Farms Out!

New preprint! We trained a neural network on dynamic muscle force recordings and showed that it can better estimate muscle forces than a Hill model. This is a first step towards more accurate muscle force estimations in human simulations as well, but a long ways to go. #biomechsky

The shoe choice was not good for the goal of getting back home, it was good for the goal of having new ideas about gait adaptations in new and unexpected environments. Now on to removing any thorns from my feet.
