“Beware a world without America defending it…” is just an enormously stupid concept. First, America never did that. Second, I think China—the engine of capitalism —would have a little something to say about maintaining global stability. China wants a world of consumers, not a world at war.

The Strait of Hormuz is not the only load-bearing instance of US power backstopping modern economies.
