I have made so little progress on the game's music the last few days. Trying to make something simple but catchy has been difficult. Any tips for a solo dev trying to make some basic chiptune? #gamedev #gamemusic #chiptune

Happy monday! Any games launching this week? #gamedev #newrelease
I find that the music is the most consuming part of game dev for me. Maybe its just cause I am not that familiar, but I find myself spending a ton of time finding sounds or playing around with chords / patterns than I realize. #gamedev #indiedev #videogamemusic #chiptune
There are two games in recent memory that I have really found super addicting in the past year or two. Megabonk and Guildrun. Both scratch that same itch. #videogames
Wasn't able to make any progress today. Worked later than expected. I think thats unavoidable some days when game dev is a side project. #gamedev
I spent more time this weekend just playing my game since it had been a while. Gave me a chance to remember what the game is missing before demo release. I realized doing this that feedback would help alot so Im hoping to get an alpha on itch by friday. Fingers crossed. #gamedev #indiegame
Okay we are back. Going to comb through the bugs list today and revisit what is needed to finalize an alpha build. Let's get to work. #gamedev #sologamedev
Going on vacation for a week. When I return, will be fully focused on getting out an alpha build of Stack the deck. Can't wait.
Devlog about Spin to the void is up! Talk about how it went, and what I am working on next! Check it out! #gamdev #sologamedev #devlog drivengames.itch.io/spin-to-the-...
Finished my first Game Jam!.... Sort of....
So this week I finally published Spin to the Void after starting more than a month ago. This was originally an idea for the Juniper Dev Super Serious Game Jam and (pretty obviously) this game was way....

Have my devlog ready for itch but the site is down it seems. Should have it posted tomorrow. I have been debating starting up a youtube and this is probably another reason to do that. Anyway, devlog will be up tomorrow probably! #gamedev #itch #solodevlog

Do any game devs publish short stories related to their story games when they write the games narrative. If so where do they publish. Im curious #gamedev #gamewriting

Well here it is, first published demo on itch.io! You can play Spin to the void now on itch. A month past the submission date but glad I finished it. Was a nice break from my main project and gave me experience of actually publishing to a platform. #gamedev drivengames.itch.io/spin-to-the-...

Just fixed a bug with one of the menus loading the proper data. As far as what I want to get done for a prototype build, its mostly just menu / ui polish left. I'm wondering now, is it worth trying to add theme music to this or are sound effects enough? #gamedev
Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%
Did a chunk of visual polish yesterday. Mostly related to shaders and transitions. ✅CRT Shader ✅ Added a few scene transitions ✅ Updated the Enemy Slow effect ✅ Minor tweaks to card animations. ✅ Added an enemy destroy animation Im just about ready to call it done (enough for itch) #gamedev
I'm debating if I want to add some UI polish/effects to my small game tonight. Menu formats, button/card effects, Scene transitions. Things like that. I think it might be worth it since they can be re used in the future pretty easily. #gamedev
Here's what the main menu looks like at the moment. Pretty basic.
Finished rebuilding the level up menu. Switched from a random power up selction each level to using scrap as currency. #godot #gamedev #solodev #indiegamedev
