I am heartbroken to learn about the shooting that happened this morning at the Canterbury Park Expo Center and devastated to hear it resulted in the loss of a young man’s life.

This week we voted to keep ICE agents out of patient areas unless they have a judicial warrant. During all the years I worked with law enforcement at HCMC, we never needed this law. But we do now and I was proud to vote yes.

My thoughts on the recent Supreme Court decision.

I'm proud to be recognized as a 2026 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate. Gun violence remains the number one killer of children in America. I see that terrible reality at the hospital.

Our healthcare system is broken. I’ve witnessed this firsthand as a doctor attending to patients—and as a State Senator working to improve healthcare in Minnesota. Systemic change in how Americans receive care can only be achieved by leaders who truly understand the problem.

SF 3769 is heading to the Senate floor. This legislation gives us the ability to hold drugmakers accountable and reduce harm by protecting access to affordable medications and preserving care in communities across the state.

This judicial order—striking down RFK Jr’s bogus vaccine recommendations—is good news for science, public health and the truth. But in case it doesn’t last, I continue my work to establish our own Minnesota Vaccine Advisory Board, which will be heard in the Health and Human Services committee today.

When ICE failed to render aid to Renee Good, she still had a pulse 6 1/2 minutes later. Yesterday, on the first day of legislative session, I co-authored a bill with the majority leader and other health care legislators that would give Minnesotans civil recourse in that circumstance.

Democrats continue to come out to connect in these dark days. The spirit of Minnesotans will prevail.
