I’m not a fan of this crazy drop off which is on one of the trails I regularly ride my mountain bike on. Thankfully I’ve never fallen down it! ;)

I used to love doing cover copy when I was on staff at DC Comics. I found that it was always a lot of fun to try and convey something with words and design. Sadly, not many publishers do them anymore. Here are a bunch that I did while at DC.

Ah, cassette tapes! I can’t say I miss their awful sound quality and when some would get eaten up by the tape player but sometimes they were well packaged and designed like these few XTC ones that I have.

We seem to have something walking around in our attic...and I don't think it's Jimothy.

I guess it's R.I.P. to the Kubert School as I and others remember it now that it's being absorbed into the County College of Morris. End of an era, man.

This Alex Toth Creepy page sold for $7500 yesterday over at Heritage Auctions. Too rich for my blood but this is peak Toth--great, diverse panel shots and I love his lettering on this too!

I have no horse in this race other than going there a long time ago, but now that The County College of Morris (CCM) has acquired The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art what happens to the newly opened version of the school? Does it stay open or is it fully integrated into CCM?

Now on the turntable—XTC’s Skylarking! This is an early English pressing of the album and has the original songs on it. Dear God was added later taking the place of Mermaid Smiled.

I found an old pay stub from 1996 from DC Comics. This is when I was still hand lettering. Man, I wish I still had that hand lettering page rate nowadays.

It's funny to me when some that I work with are surprised when I letter a comic or do edits quickly but I never tell them why I do it. I learned all the secrets to digital lettering on staff at DC Comics. We had to letter 3 comics a week plus when edits came in do those quickly. Best training ever!

Hey, someone has to make the comics...

Saw my urologist and got a chance to look at my CT scan. I have a bit of a traffic jam going on in my ureter on my right side. The almost 8mm one is in the lead & the other two following. I have an appointment Aug. 28th to have them blasted out. If things get worse beforehand, off to the ER I go. :(

Rewatching George Miller's Mad Max for the hundreth time and I have to say I love the extreme eyeball close-ups right before deadly impacts in this movie!

I had a few roadside pints here today with Rick Leonardi and his lovely wife and a good time was had by all!

Me on drums at Sun Records Studio in Memphis. I found out afterwards that this was Larry Mullen’s kit of U2 which was used when they recorded in Memphis. Never mind that I don’t have any drum sticks. ;)

Sad to see that Marvel is moving to Burbank but I think at this point it was only a matter of time. At least those who worked there will have their memories and I have many. Here I am in the Bullpen at the left in the picture with JayJay Jackson at the right when Marvel was at 387 Park Avenue South.

Even though my mystery ailment, or my aching lower abdomen, is most times bothering me, I still like to ride as much as I can. I feel better while riding and it takes my mind off of the pain.
