Just been on Corresponsales en línea again, debating various Argentinian football controversies and issues on the World Cup. An honour to be on with Marcela Mora Y Araujo again. Might be online somewhere if anyone wants to listen to the conversation (from about 2.20-3pm GMT). Radio Ciudad

Will be on the Corresponsales en línea radio programme on Radio Ciudad in Buenos Aires this Sunday at around 2.30pm. Going to be discussing conspiracies, corruption, controversies around the World Cup apparently.

Or maybe…the podcast 'Why can't England win?' Inthis episode, the focus is on the impact of memories, press narratives, identities and cultural values on World Cup performances, explaining defeat and victory, success and failure. Give it a listen on: open.spotify.com/episode/5Qoh...

Will be interesting to see how the Argentinian press narratives spin this final and how it will be remembered / erased. Very little positive to rescue in this game and doesn’t fit into many identity values. Maybe the worst part of aguante. Can’t even feel hard done by.

All the narratives trying to make this Lamine Yamal’s World Cup are pretty tedious and totally inaccurate. Didn’t do much. But then the media need to create a hero and Spain are a collective so they struggle

Since the teams for this semi final were established it has been an hourly battle not to engage with so many tweets and social media posts from both nations. Have messaged my Argentinian friends wishing them luck and for a good game. No doubt the game will become future podcast/ class content!
