Non-magical D&D item: quick-release armour. You can drop your armour as a free action at any point, but intelligent enemies with some way of manipulating the catches can also try to make you drop it. In a world where the heat metal spell exists, I think that's a good tradeoff.

I appear to have accidentally attracted the attention of some pro-AI followers. I hope you're all having a lovely day! Fair warning: I hate everything (gen) AI with a passion that borders on mania 😅 nothing personal!

As a totally unbiased impartial observer (who's been friends with the author since 2006) I really enjoyed this. It's fun and weird and exciting and very gay, all in the best ways! Why not go pick up a copy 😊

And the paperback is now available. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0H8K6M95R I'll have to do some marketing soon. I have ideas. They are not good ideas. But they are funny ideas. #writing #book #shamelessselfpromotion

Even after 14 years of not touching Blender, it seems that the (limited) skills I learnt using it are still hardwired into my brain! We're running a Taskmaster-themed competition at work, and I found an STL of the trophy. All I did was replace the "TM" with my company's initials, but still 😅

This is easily the derpiest thing I've ever made and I love it. It will eventually, crafting gods willing, be a cat, but for now it's just an extremely confused ball.

An orange crochet ball with a very confused cat face on it

You know it's too hot over here when the cat can't even be bothered to try to run out of the door the moment I open it. I don't know why she wants to go outside. The only time she ever got out without us noticing, she panicked, sat down and cried until we realised and let her back in.

I love making things like this. One of the pins that holds the handle on this wooden teapot went missing after it broke. Recreating it with a knife and a file took a while, but eventually I got it to fit just right. Now I just need to mix up exactly the right shade of yellow...

A red wooden teapot with a yellow rim and white spots. There are two wooden pins next to it; one painted yellow, the other plain wood. Next to them is a yellow handle, and in the background is a dish of wood shavings with a knife on top.

Thank you for saying "generally viewed as" less artistic 🙂 Coding is as much art as science. It's hard to explain how my brain interprets a code file, but it's something akin to lace or macrame. I see "tension" and "balance"between the structures of the code, big and small.

I'm curious what the thoughts of gamers and the people inside the industry are on using AI to help with the things generally viewed as less artistic like say coding.

"In our hearts we are the ocean, but we are islands in our minds." - Cloud Cult, One Way Out of a Hole. Just a rather nice line from a song that resonated with me 🙂

Consider the following: - vampires can turn into bats - giant centipedes eat bats - I've never heard of a vampire attacking an entomologist Coincidence? I THINK NOT 🤔

If you're in the UK and you have the ability to do so, check in on the people around you in this heat. Children, the elderly and disabled people are most at risk. Also, if you are struggling and there's someone you can ask for help, don't try to tough it out! The heat can sneak up on you.

I considered making a satirical tactical voting website a while back, where you picked the minority you hate the most and it'd tell you which UK party to vote for. I didn't do it, because I had a horrible feeling that people might actually use it.
