Great to be joined by @bellribeiroaddy.bsky.social and @seemamalhotra-mp.bsky.social on the campaign trail in Balham today. Every vote here matters. The Tories are scrapping Council Homes and holiday meal vouchers for kids - we must not let them take full control of Wandsworth.

Fantastic morning canvassing with my friend @dawnbutlerbrent.bsky.social for our incredible local candidate Shirin Georgiani! This by-election is crucial - it decides who runs Wandsworth. Vote Labour to stop the Tories agenda of cuts and chaos.

As a frontline doctor, I know that improving social care has never been more necessary. Prioritising better pay and conditions for our carers and seeking cross-party solutions shows real dedication to finally solving this crisis. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Great evening hitting the doorsteps for Shirin Georgiani in Balham and Tooting Bec! Fantastic to have my friend @liamconlon.bsky.social join us. This by-election is crucial: it decides who runs Wandsworth. Vote Labour to stop Tory cuts and chaos.
Happy 120th Birthday to our beloved Tooting Bec Lido! It's incredible to think of how many generations have enjoyed its waters. Here's to many more decades of creating cherished memories for our community.
All of my thoughts are with the people of Berlin after this despicable attack. Pride should be a time where people come together in solidarity and celebration without fear.
Pubs, bars and clubs are the lifeblood of our communities. This rate cut isn't just about businesses - it's about investing in the heart of our high streets. These are the places where friendships are forged, stories are shared, and memories are made.
Business rates to be cut by 20% for England pubs, clubs and music venues
⏱️161 hours. That's how long the River Wandle had sewage pumped into it last year. We need urgent action to protect this precious natural resource for generations to come.
Wandsworth's Tory Council has axed holiday food vouchers. 10,000 children in Wandsworth now face hunger this summer. Every child deserves to eat. Sign our petition: wandsworthlabour.uk/petitions/ch...
First full day in office and Andy is already taking bold action to support people by cutting VAT on energy bills to 0%. This will put pounds back into everyone’s pockets.
Back on shift today a bit bleary eyed after needing to bring my youngest to hospital this weekend. She received amazing care and I’m grateful I now get to come back and be part of the brilliant NHS family.
Congratulations to my friend Andy Burnham on becoming the Leader of the Labour Party! Now is the time for our party to come together around our shared values, take the fight to the Tories and Reform, and deliver for our country.
The corridor care crisis is being driven by a social care system that needs urgent reform. We must address the issues in social care with a clear plan to ensure patients receive the care they deserve while easing the pressure on our NHS.
Huge congratulations to Sadiq Khan on his well-deserved peerage. From growing up on the Henry Prince Estate to leading our capital city and now a member of the Lords - he's a dedicated public servant.
Nervous energy all round today, but I'm keeping the faith. Come on England ⚽🏴 #ENGvsARG
It was so interesting to visit the London Ambulance Service control centre. Getting to meet the dedicated teams who work tirelessly at the heart of our emergency response is always inspiring. Their professionalism and unwavering commitment to care are truly remarkable.
Buzzing for the match tonight! Even the kids can stay up for it but if thunderstorms delay kick-off we’re in trouble!
The Tory leader of Wandsworth Council has resigned. Wandsworth Council needs full-time leadership, not a part-time Tory leader and cabinet members who spend more time infighting. Residents in Wandsworth deserve so much better.
There is currently disruption at Tooting Bec station due to a passenger incident. Emergency services have attended the station and the incident has been resolved, but there may be some disruption as a result. Please look for any further announcements from TfL.
"Corridor care" is a misnomer - there is nothing caring about being treated in a corridor. We must ensure dignified care for all - yesterday I led a debate on corridor care in our NHS.
The Wandle, our local river, is a real gem, but sadly sewage was pumped into the river for 161 hours last year. This is unacceptable. We need to protect our precious natural spaces.
Out supporting my good friend Louie in Clapham Park this morning. He’s local and will work tirelessly for the community. Get out and vote for him today!
Today I’ve nominated Andy Burnham to be the next Leader of the Labour Party. He has a record of delivery as Mayor of Manchester, as well as the vision needed to bring the Labour family together and take the country forwards.
MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan, an Emergency Medicine doctor and chair of the APPG on Emergency Care, outlined the need for better data on corridor care - and the toll it takes on patients and staff.
Later this afternoon, MPs in the House of Commons will be debating the causes, impact and solutions to Corridor Care in hospitals. This practice, which sees patients treated in corridors, on chairs, in cupboards or even on the floor, is unacceptable, undignified and dangerous.
Too many patients are stuck in corridors, waiting for care. This isn't about statistics; it's about real people in distress. As an A&E doctor, I've seen the impact firsthand. Today, I've secured a debate in the House of Commons on NHS corridor care. We need urgent solutions.
Trans people deserve dignity and respect. I've written to the Women and Equalities Minister, urging her to listen to calls from myself & other MPs to disapprove the draft EHRC Code. Read my letter below 👇
The hypocrisy of Nigel Farage is disgusting. Taking cash from shady sources while lecturing others, is typical. The public deserves to know who is bankrolling him. The Electoral Commission must investigate and take action.
Today, I laid a wreath in Hyde Park to honour the 52 innocent people killed on 7 July 2005. We honour those injured, the families who carry the loss, and the heroic emergency responders who ran towards danger that day. London remembers. You will never be forgotten.
