I'm getting so many "Are you going to Gamescom?" emails that I have to decline or pass on. I really really need to make an effort to go next year.

Did you know MOMO is widely considered the strongest character in Xenosaga Episode II, due to her high EATK stat and piercing non-elemental behavior. She can be easily manipulated in Boost chains to deal extremely high damage, and she can heal! I have no idea where she got the bow and beret, though.

Final Fantasy X was a formative game for me, something I'll never really truly be able to look at objectively. I wrote a bit about it with the 20th anniversary, 5 years ago, about how I resonate with the themes of grief more as an adult than I ever did as a pre-teen: www.rpgsite.net/feature/1148...
Final Fantasy X’s message of overcoming loss resonates with me far more now, 20 years later | RPG Site

Been playing Endless Ragnarok and, yea, not a fan of the repetitive endgame material grind hamster wheel. Been watching hours of second-screen YouTube as I go to help fight the boredom.
Beyond proud of the June that @rpgsite.net had. We had some great announcements, though not exactly any mega-mega releases -- but the site just breezed to well over 5mil pageviews, with an average non-bounce session duration of just under 15 minutes(!); a super engaged audience. The team rocks.
Hey, so, I was so angry today that, for once, I blogged it instead of posting about it. Games media, especially mainstream games media, cannot keep abdicating responsibility in how it talks about these things an-evening-at-the-inn.ghost.io/video-game-s...
Video Game Studios Aren't Monoliths
I'm just going to come right out and say it this time - treating video game studios like some kind of fantasy football draft, in the wake of mass layoffs no less, is sickening. The last three years, ...

This is the sort of interview not many sites end up putting out - so I'm proud of that - but it's also so earnest and lovely I've just picked up the game, which seems like a delightful passion project.
"Making games for work and making games for fun. In a sense, it was heaven" - Yoshio Nishimura talks to us about Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle, how he joined the industry, moving from Capcom to Vanillaware, working with Hitoshi Sakimoto, and much more: www.rpgsite.net/interview/20...
I'm involved a bit in this too. Not so much in the day-to-day, but (probably) more as a communication facilitator, as I've been the point of contact for RPG Site for ~14 years To PR friends, I'm no longer allowed to say something 'isn't in scope', because Respec isn't defined by genre conventions.

Seeing some people comment along the lines of 'Obsidian should have been working on Fallout years ago!'. That's fine if that's what they want to do, but I hope they aren't just relegated to be developer muscle for someone else's IP.
One fun thing about working at a multi-cultural US company, with a large immigrant workforce, is that it goes all out for World Cups. The (huge) lunchroom is basically raucous right now. You wouldn't think this is a bunch of scientists lol.

I've moved around so much I don't really have a home state.
I'd be interested in some thoughts from Americans on here on an idea: Over the last 5 years, have you found yourself identifying more with your home state than the US as a whole over time?
Now I gotta re-shuffle review assignments lol

As someone with no interest in Steam Machines, GTA, Deltarune, or Star Fox, this has been a pretty uneventful week so far. Not trying to be dismissive, we all have our differing tastes and this just happens to be a void week for me lol.
I remember years ago when every single press release for any Xbox game, first or third party, had to include the phrase "Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft".
"Sharma's vision is to turn Xbox into not just the biggest gaming company, but the biggest entertainment company." I mean... if Xbox can make Helix like, idk, something like a complete, all-in-one game and entertainment system they could really have something here.
