30 years ago, The Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin McDonagh, directed by Garry Hynes had its world premiere at the Town Hall Theatre. This production also marked the official opening of the Town Hall Theatre as Galway’s new municipal Theatre. Happy 30th anniversary, Town Hall Theatre! 🎉

In case you missed it, our artistic director Garry Hynes was on RTÉ Radio 1 last weekend chatting to Dearbhail McDonald on The Brendan O'Connor Show. Garry picked five music tracks that spoke to different parts of her life including her college days in Galway and J1 summers in New York.

This is such an important book. Patrick Lonergan has done us a great service in writing down in words the essence of @druidtheatre.bsky.social first 50 years. That which it was, is, and will be, the eternal quest for alchemy borne of the earth far beneath the streets of Galway.
