Yeyo Digital and acrylic on paper 2012 ---- One of my faves from the archive. It set the stage for how I see & envision my paintings. Embodied, archetypal, ancestral, futurist, jewel tones anchored in the dust and browns of the earth, mythological. Inspired by Erkyah Badu's Yeyo (and mom trauma lol)

A femme tree goddess rises from the waters and lands. Her legs are composed of tree roots, her dress emulates the shape of the vulva and vagina. The dress folds and curtains transform into a veil that bisects the figure. Tree branches emerge from the crown and head, and house a glowing sun.
