Love reading, gardening, camping, canoeing. From Northwest British Columbia

The rain has finally stopped and my flowers have survived. Some in my pots were flattened a little, but here come the August gardens.

Well, someone cut the cables again and took out the cable vision, internet and phones for the whole day yesterday across the northwest. We really need a second line and need to stop these people. Meanwhile, some more great live music last night, Mercedes Brown and this is the Ezra Beaton Trio.

Riverboat Days started in Terrace today. After the parade, lots going on including Concerts in the Park all afternoon and evening. Terrace loves live music! And the rain held off.

A band is playing on the stage and three young girls are dancing in front. Some of the crowd at Concerts in the Park. There were tons of people and lots of food vendors.

Not much reading happened this month. It was a very busy month. Take a step back in time to get a vision on what went on before Slow Horses (excellent). I really like Louise Penny, but this one didn't quite do it for me. The plot was a little unbelievable for me. (Why?) #SlowHorses ⚡️📚💙

Good morning! Our last hot day today. We are off to Kispiox for the Music Festival. A little more volunteer work and then a lot of fun. Will be off grid until Sunday night. My day lilies are blooming.

Spent the day in Kispiox today at a work bee. Getting ready for next weekend’s music festival. It was 28 C, but we got a lot done and had fun.

It has been so cold, windy and rainy this summer. Finally we have sun, and with it heat. Looking at 28 to 33 degrees C the next while. A few garden pics.

Camping at Lakelse Lake with friends for the week. Last night it absolutely poured for about 3 hours. I am viewing the rain from a covered area, thank goodness!

The longest day, the first day of summer and I was up at 5:30. It is going to be a beautiful, hot day today. Happy Fathers Day Dads and hugs to all of us that are missing ours.

My spiderlings on my verandah. I can’t resist giving them a small touch and watch them scatter a little and then come back together. Spiders are totally welcome on my verandah but not in my house😂

In Port Hardy for the night for our early morning ferry to Prince Rupert. A lovely day, a good drive and the view from our room - just missed catching the bald eagles right in front of here.

Being very busy visiting my granddaughters this week, aged 5 and 8. A birthday this week, so life has been very exciting. Hope my gardens at home are getting a little rain. This is from camping a few weeks ago.

Just finishing a lovely visit with my mother. She is still doing well in her house, with some help. She has hired a gardener to do her front yard and someone to do the lawns, but she still does her back yard gardens. Sure wish we didn’t live so far apart.

Here are the books I read this May. I have read all of Jane Harper‘s Books (Australian). It was good. If you want to try her books, my favourite is “The Lost Man”. “Assasins Anonymous” was very different and fast moving. A fun read. The other two were okay. ”Small Things” is a short story. ⚡️📚💙
