08 Apr 26. Some of our summer visitors are starting to return. Today Blackcaps and Willow Warblers joined the Chiffchaffs, and a Barn Swallow hawked over Wyndham Lake. There were also 16 Sand Martins, 2 Oystercatchers and a Red Kite, plus Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock and Speckled Wood butterflies.

This is DST’s 5th year of BioBlitzes for naturalists, as we work to identify the biodiversity at this restricted MOD site. We are very grateful to everyone who has generously provided invaluable support to our progress. Check iNaturalist DST Leconfield Conservation project. 2026 poster below.
