A little teaser. Started the underpainting on a new piece, been too long away from the easel. Can you tell what it is yet? #oilpainting #Seascape #art
Oh my! What wonderful performances from Alan Cummings and Shirley Henderson in #AHistoryofPaper at @pitlochryft.bsky.social . Tender, funny, emotive, and frankly just a beautiful piece of music theatre #theatre #music
So far @edfringe.bsky.social , getting the widest variety of brilliant shows, nowhere else touches this, we're so lucky to get to experience so much performance art- if govt. doesn't start encouraging arts in schools again, where will the next generation be?
On the beach and in the water, what better way to enjoy the #eclipse in #Sark #ChannelIslands
Probably one of the most beautiful places for an evening swim, and just 10 minutes walk from home #Sark #ChannelIslands #PortduMoulin
Finally able to reveal this, painted for a lovely couple whom I married in this little chapel a year ago #art #Sark #Channelislands #ministry
sabbatical #10, tiny #acrylic sketch of Portobello beach and a passing storm which we thought would engulf us, but passed by, thunder echoing across the Firth, reminding us of the awesome power of creation. #art #Edinburgh
Sabbatical #9 "Mary". ...trying to capture, in this pastel sketch, something of that moment as Mary is just about to have her life transformed as he speaks her name...... #Christianart #pastel
Sabbatical #8 "Even the Sparrow". It's not really about sparrows..but about worth, about not worrying, about having faith, being secure in who you are and loved for it. About having a spiritual home. #art #Christianart #colouredpencil
Sabbatical #7 "Mustard seed" It sprouts, is so delicate, fragile, reaching for the light..he said faith was like this, the kingdom was like this, but the tree it becomes, that is something else #art #colouredpencil #Christianart
Sometimes you get to experience something so beautiful and then catch it, and art is created from art #dance #photography #contemporarydance #art PCK dance
Possibly my favourite, cheetah almost out of sight in the long grass #wildlife #photography #edinburgh @edinburghzoo.bsky.social
And babies ( but baby sloth wasn't coming out for photo's, a little small yet,) and a native amongst others #wildlife #photography #edinburgh @edinburghzoo.bsky.social
Hard to resist, they're all so photogenic #edinburgh #photography #wildlife @edinburghzoo.bsky.social
Sabbatical #6 "Safe Harbour" in contrast to the loose brushwork of "Stepping out" (#3) depicting lack of faith in the stormy seas of life, this needed more measured painting for the calm of a safe harbour guided by the lighthouse #oilpainting #art #Christianart #Newhaven #Edinburgh
Sabbatical work #5 "Pentecost"...art, like the disciples at Pentecost, can be interpreted by all people, no matter what the spoken language #art #pastel #Christianart
at last, sliding into recognition #trombone
My wife bought me some lovely colour pencils, so I thought I'd try them out (good to get back to some art ) #colouredpencilart #art #puffin #Sark
