Word of the day. Ineluctable: (adjective) Impossible to avoid, escape, or resist. It describes an outcome or a fact that is certain to happen, no matter how hard you try to fight it. It is ineluctable that RFK Jr will sell supplements after he leaves office.
This guy never served. He faked an injury to avoid the draft. None of his children have served. He called those who did serve their country "suckers and losers." He skipped the centenary memorial for servicemen who died in WWI because it was drizzling. This is more than usually repellent.
RFK Jr: "I'm announcing that HHS has begun the decertification of Network for Hope, the organ procurement organization."
I have to ask what the hell is wrong with us, look at these numbers!
The Trump regime is so far away from a solution to its illegal war with Iran that it isn't even focused on the nuclear issue that supposedly led to hostilities in the first place. Instead, the regime is focused on the Strait of Hormuz, which wasn't even an issue until Trump started the war.
As intended If tech peeps really wanted to contribute positively to society they’d design a one stop interface where citizens could easily see every benefit for which they are eligible and allow one click selection of those benefits
More than 1 million Ohioans are not getting essential safety-net benefits for which they're eligible, according to a new analysis by the Urban Institute ohiocapitaljournal.com/2026/08/04/m...
watching the candidate forum for the US Senate seat currently held by Tina Smith and it's incredible how Royce White's response to every question is to spout insane conspiracy theories about transgender people and the uniparty. This guy was the GOP's nominee for a Senate seat two years ago!
Hearings like this are a reminder that if you work for Donald Trump, you are a person of low character and have no integrity. There are no exceptions.
😮 Trump's nominees are the most pathetic men in the world 😮 During a hearing, Blumenthal made Trump nominees squirm by asking them who won the 2020 election -- a question they refuse to answer -- but then Schiff upped the ante by asking them *who won the 2016 election.* Here's a supercut:
BLUMENTHAL: Judge Cronan, you're already on the district court. Who won the 2020 election? CRONAN: Joseph Biden received the majority of electoral votes B: You have nothing to lose. You have a lifetime appointment, and yet you're unwilling to state the simple fact that Biden won the 2020 election
Every single Republican candidate for governor of Minnesota (including Mike Lindell!) makes clear that if Trump tried another Operation Metro Surge in the Twin Cities, they would support his efforts to brutalize residents
Klobuchar: "I'm gonna live what I'm saying, and that means making sure that small towns can develop, that we keep our rural hospitals strong, and that's not gonna happen when my opponents -- all 3 of them -- have embraced Donald Trump's big beautiful bill that cut Medicaid!"
DURBIN: You wrote an article in which you claimed 'Black inmates are most like to become sexual aggressors.' Why should people of color believe you've changed? CRONAN: I co-authored the article. I haven't re-read it in a long time. DURBIN: Do you believe it? CRONAN: I'm not in a position to opine
* It's unreal how terrible Trump's nominees are * DURBIN: You wrote, 'Feminists advanced a theory that rape is meant to perpetuate male domination.' Do you still oppose Violence Against Women Act? CANDEUB: I haven't really thought it D: In 2023 you did an interview & decried harassment laws ...
For starters Nick Timiraos is actually quite competent and really knows his stuff. Which of course, Bessent knows. The only logical conclusion here is that he is trying to take it to page from the Trump playbook and sick Maga sycophants after the reporter.
As evidence for Warsh’s rough start as Fed chair, the Treasury secretary is now going after reporters for their coverage of the central bank.
What??? An opening scene of countless possible sci-fi movies. You know. The kind where you think to yourself: UH OH. (He was with SpaceX before his NASA gig…)
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman on rockets crashing into the moon: "It's not a big deal right now. The moon has clearly seen better days."

Q: Director Patel, any update on the Guthrie case? KASH PATEL: *walks away*
All women must include trans women Or it’s just about policing women Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
Representative Shirley Chisholm, 1972: "[W]e have looked in vain to the Nixon administration for the courage, the spirit, the character, and the words to lift us, to bring out the best in us, to rekindle in each of us our faith in the American dream."

Folding like a cheap umbrella? The US has removed Iran-related sanctions, according to the US Treasury's website, Reuters reports.
El-Sayed: "Mike Rogers is a guy who wants to put a data center in your backyard so he can make himself feel a little more manly by making an AI video ... he's a guy who went back to Florida so he could lick every single boot Donald Trump owns to bet for his endorsement."
Just a note that @jbendery.bsky.social is 100% worth following. Always finds stories like these that matter, and yet are a bit under the radar.
Former J6 federal prosecutors are begging senators -- mostly GOPers, but a handful of Dems are in there, too -- to stop confirming election deniers to lifetime federal courts seats. “Please stop poisoning our courts." www.huffpost.com/entry/live-u...
How has that worked out for us boys and girls?
Max Miller on why he's staying in the race: "When we go back to 2015 and 2016, & people in the media looked at President Trump, & everyone came out with allegations. Dozens of women, dozens of crazy allegations, dozens of nasty criminal misconduct. And you know what he did? He stayed in the fight."
