Dudley Zoo and Castle is a registered charity. Home to many endangered species, who live around an 11th century castle, the site also houses the world’s largest single collection of Tecton buildings as well as being of important geological significance.

Happy International Orangutan Day from our family group of Bornean orangutans. Join us at 12.45pm for our Presenter-led talk, where you find out more about the threats orangs face in the wild as well as what we can all do to help their survival - particularly when out shopping!

Arctic foxes, Grace and Spruce, have been enjoying some banana smoothie frozen lollies in the hot weather! The pair are now sporting their shorter, thinner coats. In the wild, this dark fur colouring helps them camouflage against the rocky Arctic tundra.

We’re wishing our loved-up Asiatic lions, Kirana and Keshari, a Happy World Lion Day! It’s a day when we celebrate and shine the spotlight on this incredible endangered species, of which there are estimated to be only around 600-700 individuals left in the wild.

Our Wild Bricks DIY make kits are flying off the shelves – with the giraffe proving the most popular! We’ve got 6 animals to choose to make – giraffe, penguin, red panda, orangutan, tiger & flamingo, priced £12.99 each or 3 for £30. They're available from the zoo or our website.

Our beautiful Sumatran, Daseep, is helping us celebrate Global Tiger Day! Critically endangered in the wild, it is estimated only around 400-500 of her sub-species remain in the wild, with threats including deforestation, poaching and habitat loss.

Our farm’s guinea pigs have been enjoying homegrown carrots thanks to the green fingered efforts of our gardeners! Throughout the holiday, the farm barn will be open from 12pm until 5.30pm, enabling visitors to see the animals for longer.

Our zoo site is a riot of colour at the moment with all the summer planting. Our gardening team have been busy planting areas around the 40-acres with a mixture of seasonal flowers, including geraniums, petunias and marigolds and we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s all looking lovely!
