Street of the Week: Couttie’s Wynd This lane was originally known as Abbot’s Wynd and is mentioned in records dating back to 1229. The Abbot in question was the Abbot of Lindores who seems to have owned land here. In the 15th century it changed names to Spalding Wynd.
