Somehow, Zach Cregger’s best movie to date is about a medical courier making increasingly poor decisions throughout its runtime.

Some film-loving junkie just striving to maintain my sanity in these backwater times “If you believe in yourself, eat all your school, stay in milk, drink your teeth, don’t do sleep, and get eight hours of drugs. You can get work!” -Mr. T
Why does the Vinegar Syndrome website look like crap now?
Since when do movie tickets cost $20 nowadays? Granted, I had a discount code to help take the edge off and the theater in my area has been under renovations for the past few months, but it still sucks.
I’ve been planning out my full-on horror intake for all of next month. I know it won’t be easy due to life stuff, especially in the halfway point. But provided I play my cards right, I might be able to pull something off.
There’s something gratifying about getting your vaccinations the exact same day you schedule them. Makes the whole thing a one-and-done deal!
After having it sit around for months, I finally used that $200 reward code and splurged mostly on sweaters.
Vinegar Syndrome’s Labor Day sale week sure felt like a mixed bag for me. I think it’s because it was all based on luck when it came to getting some OOP slipcovers. In my case, I was too slow and busy to upgrade SPINE OF NIGHT, but I did manage to luck out on upgrading CARMILLA.
I tried watching the Stamptown special on Netflix…seriously, that is what people see as funny nowadays?
What's your favorite Bible verse? Wrong answers only. “You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.”
I’ve been wanting to have an after-hours place to shop. Now I have it and it’s a half-hour walk away from the office! It even helps that the first thing I come out with is exactly what I was looking for!
This morning I remembered this Japanese film I hadn’t seen in years. I believe it was called DEPARTURES. Outside of the premise, I know that it had previously won an Oscar and was scored by Hisaishi. (winks to @worldofcrap.bsky.social for a possible Blu-ray)
@diabolikdvd.bsky.social I’m trying to plan ahead, but will you have 4K THREADS in the slipcase?
This was everything scored on my second physical media swap at Revolution Brew. I wish I had gotten rid of everything I brought in this time around, but I did noticed that others had similar issues. Better luck this September, I suppose.
Shouting out to @catvoleur.bsky.social, whom I got to meet at a screening of PERFECT BLUE, which I had not seen in a while. Thank you for giving me your book and for letting me vent about my own observations regarding that film. I cannot wait to revisit what I already own through your perspective.
I haven’t read ODYSSEY since high school, but I have been thinking lately about how much it must have sucked being part of Odysseus’ crew going home. (Btw I saw Nolan’s film on 70mm last weekend. Trippy as hell, but it rips.)
Living with smog is bad enough. But when it irritates my eyes so much that my sunglasses are ineffective, that’s where I draw the line.
Just found that the Evanston AMC is closing again for renovations, so that sucks
I have a deep respect for any children’s film that knows how to use “Nearer My God, To Thee” AND reference the Titanic disaster to great effect.
B&N Criterion sale + gift card = mostly upgrades and a little extra
Tfw your weekend mood is more reflective than “patriotic”
First time at the @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social’s new auditorium 3! It’s wider than number two, but just as intimate. (I also managed to peek at how the second auditorium was altered to accommodate the additions.)
I only own two of his films right now, so I’ll have to wait and see what the asking price is before I cave in.
Holy shit. Criterion is releasing The Complete Stanley Kubrick. youtu.be/K2KsC-HJWjY?...
I now have one of those fancy display cases from @vinsyn.bsky.social. All I had to do was win it from them! Of course, it doesn’t hold all the VS/partner label discs I own, so I’m a bit overwhelmed by how I want to shelve them.
Seeing SATANTANGO this past Sunday still feels a little impossible to shake. If you were to stretch out the ending of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF to a full workday, I think that would be it.
Not since RUGRATS GO WILD have I been more excited about smelling a movie!
