I'm always amused by the way humans fetishize "walking upright," "tool use," and "language" as the iconic features of a superior species. And of course we ignore or downplay the obvious signs of all three in every other species. "They only walk upright SOMETIMES. Not like a true upright walker."

For this week’s #LiftToTheSky I’m highlighting the #Poetry Library, #Scotland. A fab resource with the aim of ‘bringing people and poetry together’ check their online resources, visit if in Edinburgh, or borrow books by post. A treasure. www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk Discover more than Burns

'Comma of Didymus' will screen in Edinburgh at the Cameo on Dec 15th. I have *no idea* how you'd get a ticket - organisers not very forthcoming! Turn up and say hi if you're near, I guess? But nice to be part of a screening in t' old hame toon anyway! 🙂 more about the film - artsci.co.uk/comma/

Sculpture as movement frozen. Dance as light captured. This new #ekphrastic poem by @duntruner.bsky.social has it all. 'I saw her dance again there, enfolded in negative space, I saw again that hip-spun pause of lofted breath.' afterpoetry.com/poem/sep-21-...
