Holy hell why is West Virginia's OpenStreetMap land cover data so comprehensive compared to its neighbors? This is insane. The rest of the U.S. has pretty poor land cover coverage, but not this state.
I ended up breaking my plugin and almost abandoning it altogether, but I locked in and fixed it. It also runs WAYY quicker now but it's kind of a compromise so I'll need to find a better solution at some point...

The way Generative AI is marketed as a tool for thought is nonsense. It clearly is not used in that way by most people. Instead they just use it to do the thinking for them. Worryingly, AI is mostly controlled by corporations. What a time to be going through higher education.

Obsidian went from around 2,700 plugins to just passing 5,000 since the community directory launched on May 12, 2026. There was an immediate spike to around 3,400 plugins based on the Obsidian blog post about it, and within the last day or so it's reached 5,000 total plugins...
The Wikipedia article for Evernote could probably do with a major overhaul, as I found a subsection dedicated to an integration between it and Blinkist... which was discontinued several years ago.
Duskfall@duskhasfallen.bsky.social · 3mo agoAnyway, it's now much easier for editors to see and access, since I changed the layout style of the versions to fix a display issue, only to discover a new link placed next to the "title" that led to the template in question.
It is really wonderful to see how far CSS has come, and I take joy in watching browser support reach a level to where I can make use of them on my website.
I've been quite excited about JPEG XL for a while now, so it's exciting to see it get more adoption over time. Truly, exciting stuff in the face of the chaos brought by generative AI.

I love technology; like, the kind that improves our health (along with other Clearly Beneficial to Everyone Technologies) and not the kind that atrophies my problem-solving/analytical skills so that I am dependent on some model or company for those critical skills.
