From the characters we see on screen to the people making decisions behind it, representation in film, television and broadcast media shapes how disability is understood and how disabled people see themselves reflected in culture.

Disabled Women Ireland is preparing a submission on the new Cost of Disability payment, but your individual submission matters just as much. Public consultations rely on hearing directly from disabled people about the real costs they face. Adding your voice can help push for meaningful change.

Our colleagues over at Access for All, DFI and IWA will be speaking in the AV Room in Dail Eireann about the impact of the removal of cost of living supports on Disabled People. If you would like to share your experiences with them, email accessforallireland@gmail.com

While we cannot be there in person, we will be supporting online tomorrow. Budget 2026 has left disabled people worse off, and not provided us with the supports that we so urgently need. Please join our colleagues in Access for All, DFI and the IWA tomorrow outside the Dáil.
