This is hilarious to me because my group chat with my best friends is made up of me, a Jennifer, a Tracy, and a Sarah (with some alternate spellings and nicknames). I don't know what kind of paperwork my parents had to complete to name me Danielle instead of Stacy.
Yes, it's true, parents of Gen X girl babies were legally required to name the baby Jennifer but you were able to apply for Stacy or Tracy or Sara(h) if you filled out the paperwork, got it notarized, and paid a small processing fee.
