Emergence of “non-UPF” label almost comically inevitable, as discussed here👇. Yes I know we can get into the weeds of nutrients vs processing, but that need not drown out a critical point: labelling can be an important public health intervention or a great way to increase profits. Rarely both.

This is what happens when there's a new food villain. Someone invents a non-ultraprocessed certification, food companies make processed food that's just as bad, but without whatever additives. Certifier charges big bucks for silly "non-UPF certified label" www.nonultraprocessed.org/newsroom/new...
