The managing director of publishing, Tory Maguire, called staff to a town hall meeting at 10.30am on Tuesday to unveil what she said was structural change in a digital-first era. Maguire said in an email seen by Guardian Australia: "The best way to protect our quality journalism is to ensure our organisation adapts to a changing media landscape, that we’re growing commercially and investing in new areas which connect with new audiences. In particular we need to keep shifting towards the digital-first future." Earlier this year Nine made a number of roles in its broadcasting division redundant. This new round of redundancies will not affect the Australian Financial Review.
