Happy World Salt Marsh Day! Coastal ecosystems are critical to building a resilient planet and in Bayou Bienvenue, Louisiana, three Blue Carbon Ambassadors Paige, Jyah, and Bryce—with support of the Lower 9th Ward Center for Sustainable Development and Engagement—planted 109 cypress trees!

Blue Carbon Ambassadors Blake, Jyah, and Paige speak about their work in New Orleans, planting cypress trees and engaging community members in salt marsh restoration.

On this #WorldEnvironmentDay, we celebrate those caring for the Earth who are working to protect the air we breathe, the health of our land, the diversity of living creatures, the communities affected by a changing planet, and the precious water that connects us all. 🩵

With Capitol Hill Ocean Week #CHOW2026 taking place in DC June 2–4, we’re looking forward to joining conversations that advance effective protections for our most precious ecosystems. Will we see you there? Let us know!

Applications are open for the 2026 Water Challenge Ambassadors—do you know the perfect person to apply? These youth (ages 14–22, based in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and USVI) learn to monitor local water quality, lead watershed protection projects, and connect with peers. monitorwater.org/ambassadors

Young people check water quality by the water's edge, the text "What does it mean to become a water challenge ambassador?" to the left below the EarthEcho International logo. Youth smile while sitting on a rocky shore next to the description of the Water Challenge Ambassador role description and the EarthEcho logos.

The Atlantic's only Marine National Monument is under threat. While our longtime collaborators at @theclf.bsky.social, @nrdc.org, and @biologicaldiversity.org fight this in court, EarthEcho's young leaders have spent years building public knowledge and commitment to protecting treasures like this.

Environmental Nonprofits Sue Trump Administration to Protect Northeast Canyons and Seamounts

The last time the Trump administration tried to strip away protections, we sued and kept fighting until protections were restored. We’re ready to do it again.
