I am autistic, and every year for my birthday I like doing something where I go out of my comfort zone in terms of food. I didn't get to do that yesterday, because the place I'd planned to go was closed. Today, they weren't! I got this TMNT ass pizza and it was... fine? It's got peaches on it!

"Chef's Whimsy" Savannah pizza from a local shop. Garlic butter base with honey, sliced mozzarella, bacon, prosciutto, gorgonzola, and fire roasted peaches with a balsamic glaze.

Totally subjective. You might like to reheat your pizza a different way. And I’ll never be that social media asshole to say you’re doing it wrong. I’ll just say that in a pan on low is my favorite way. Crispy crust and the cheese re-melts perfectly.

Never forget, we can double the # of people in a pedestrian street or people-place in 2 ways— by doubling the # of people who come (which is harder), or by doubling the length of time people stay (easier, but we often get this wrong). My kids played in this spot for an hour. Make streets magnetic.

Kids and adults playing the simple cornhole games with bean bags on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver, early evening on a Thursday night. Simple games and things like chalk can be remarkably effective at keeping people in public spaces longer, supporting magnetic or “sticky” streets, despite being relatively inexpensive. Great bang for the buck.

The Big Apple bench is going in. The ball chairs that were all soccer balls during the World Cup, now reflect all sorts of summer sports you can watch on Granville Street patios. Tonight’s Dominican Street Dance drew a crowd. And simple games help make the street magnetic. Week Two looking good.
