Michiganders lets go vote! So much is on the line, not the least of which is the ongoing fight to #shutdownline5

Accidentally ended up on a deep dive of the Tao Te Ching because of some dead trees at a Fourth of July party... Life is amazing sometimes
So grateful to have been included in the latest issue of Wild Greens Magazine 💚 Give it a read at wildgreensmagazine.com
Excited for this pond talk! Anything which makes it more likely I will see frogs is a good thing 🐸 youtube.com/live/fwhiXpg...

Struggling to communicate to my neighbors effectively about human/animal interactions. I've heard people suggest shooting bats, poisoning box elder bugs, and even literally salting the Earth! It's very interesting to me how threatened people can feel by their other-than-human neighbors.
Thrilled to share that my work is featured in this month's fantastic @wildgreens.bsky.social editon! Thank you Wild Greens 💚 www.wildgreensmagazine.com/archive/july...

Got this fabulous texture of this specimen Oriental plane tree (Platanus orientalis) at the Edinburgh Royal Botanical Garden. It's so wild that our American sycamores can have such a close relative that diverged so far away in time and space.
I will never post anything created with generative AI :]
Having such a good time watching this Eastern Phoebe pair raise their chicks. I think many people have a reflexive aversion to wild animals near their homes or landscaping. But I truly believe we can learn to live together with our neighbors: birds, bats, groundhogs, and all.
Finally got all my thoughts out on the boogeyman, aka the Scott's Miracle-Gro Company. They're the woooorst!
Working on a blog post about the Scott's Miracle-Gro Company. Love to dig in on a sinister history behind a familiar brand
Terrible picture, but cool oak galls. Trying to start an article about my partners dad trying to shoot brown bats with a handgun but its almost too ridiculous 🙃
Been doing a lot of thinking about how we build and sustain community. This article came out of a great discussion with a friend. We've got a lot of work to do to foster diverse groups that can take this movement forward #naturalist
Putting in my 2 cents in on an extremely old controversy but why was everyone mad at the grave cleaner lady on tiktok? Whenever I visit my family graves I give their neighbors a little touch up too. Also this catalpa was majestic!
Got all geared up to take beautiful pics of this nest with my new macro lens and realized that its so close to the deck boards that the camera couldn't fit into this space without literally touching the eggs 😅 🤦♂️ phone pic it is!! #Birding
This is so beautiful. Children releasing these beautiful birds back into the world. Countries working together. Restoration ecology can heal hearts, too. www.asahi.com/sp/ajw/artic... #rewilding #restorationecology #seventhgeneration
Found a super cool Glechoma gall wasp while weeding my tomatoes! Does glechoma smell weird to everyone? My partner claims he can't smell the skunky horribleness
A sea view in honor of Rachel Carson's birthday. Hard to overstate her heroism or her impact on me. Thank you for the songs of spring 💙🐦
I 💚 snags! This grand old snag at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh had lots of great signage describing the environmental benefits of dead trees #naturalist #sustainablelandscaping #rewilding
Amazing news! Big ups to MDARD for phasing out Callery pear and Japanese barberry www.mlive.com/environment/...
Michigan restricts popular landscaping plants linked to ecological harm
Four popular shrubs and trees will be illegal to sell after a phase-out period for the nursery industry. Two aquatic plants face immediate prohibition next month.
