Business, law, tomfoolery, BigFloof™️, Hamilton “Hammy” Floof™️, SandSnakes (my three daughters), cooking enthusiast. Reasonable but prone to sarcasm, most of which is friendly. I’m correct, but it’s neither legal nor financial advice.

Waking up every day to a full slate of World Cup games is like Christmas every morning. Once again I will watch every game and schedule my life around them. To be a fan requires sacrifice! USA! USA! USA! USA!

One of my daughters said “What’s the big deal? It’s just the World Cup” during a game. I wrote her out of my will at halftime.

Found a coffee shop with a tres leches style Biscoff cake, and I believe my weight is about to fluctuate significantly.

Today my girls texted me - while I was in the middle of a meeting at my office - asking me to order them buffalo wings for delivery because they were feeling snacky in the pool. Raising girls is really easy if you never tell them ‘no’.

Seeing a “How Rounding Works” explanation sheet at a place that no longer accepts pennies did not bolster my confidence in our education system.

The coffee place writes “K” on my lid to differentiate it from my wife’s coffee. I was placing my hand on top of the lid of my coffee cup to keep it steady. Just looked at my hand and noticed “KKK” had rubbed off onto my palm in permanent marker. Do not like.

Sometimes as I ride the train downtown I wonder if I falsely perceive myself as a manicured professional when in fact I’m disheveled and muttering to myself about UFOs, Jesus, and the FBI. Dementia is a terrifying concept. This skeet sponsored by the guy muttering across from me on the train.

Yes my shirt is wrinkled. It’s linen. Kind of a pain. But it’s also linen weather, and Friday, and my schedule is light, so deal with it. I’ll be all dressed up for date night tonight.

In 2017, Criselda Vasquez painted this portrait of her parents and titled it "The New American Gothic." Last month, her father, the man in this portrait, was abducted by ICE after being in the US for 30+ years. The family is now struggling with bills. A GoFundMe has been started: gofund.me/456d8a193

A painting of a man and a woman standing in front of a red Chevrolet truck. The man is holding a hoe; the woman is holding a bucket with house cleaning supplies. The artist's two parents stand proudly in front of the painting.

There’s a seven-eleven near my office that plays opera music through its outside speakers. I walk past it every day, and it always brightens my mood. What little things in your life make you happy?

Walking from the train to the office this morning I saw a cybertruck try to wedge itself into a parking space that was clearly too small for it. I watched, gleefully, as the cybertruck’s front bumper lost a fight with the trailer hitch on the truck in front of it. Celebrate the little things.

Wife is back in town so now I can stop listening to country music to match my mood. For two days. Then she’s off to D.C. And the sad country will resume.

My wife has extended her stay in Las Vegas. I’d wager the extra day of “conference” involves more poolside drinks and gambling than meeting rooms and networking. Women these days - give ‘em the right to vote and next thing you know they’re scheduling “me time”. Outrageous.
