The first Quarterly Bulletin of the @ecno-climate.bsky.social Clean Industrial Transition Monitor looks at recent developments in fossil fuel dependence, energy prices and industrial policy. Two findings that stood out to us 👇
Lower fossil fuel demand doesn't just cut emissions. It can also reduce EU's exposure to energy shocks. Our bulletin finds that spending on imported fossil fuels during the recent Strait of Hormuz crisis was 24% lower than during the 2022 energy crisis due to a reduction in fossil fuel demand.
The challenge for ecosystem-based adaptation is no longer proving that it works. The challenge is scaling it. Our discussion paper explores pathways for scaling coastal EbA, from blended finance & blue carbon credits to governance approaches that support long-term resilience. 📖 tinyurl.com/56k2uxhd
