When it comes to the starting lineup, JJ Redick said Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler are obvious locks. He also said playfully, “The other two spots will not be two white guys.”

Rob Pelinka thinks this new era will have more depth and continuity. That is why he’s locked up so many players for multiple years.

JJ Redick calls Walker Kessler a “perfect fit” with Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves. He wants Kessler closer to the basket and to protect the rim. Redick said they were a switch-heavy team before, “out of necessity”.

After LeBron James left, Rob Pelinka said the Lakers had three goals for the offseason: 1. Retain Austin Reaves 2. Acquire a center 3. And players who can dribble, pass, and shoot. He feels they accomplished all three.
