If you're not going to vote for El-Sayed because you didn't get your preferred candidate, do remember that for the past 10 years, many voters have been forced to do the same. Losing sucks, but the kibbitzing by certain blocs in the party when this happens just looks like a temper tantrum. Grow up.

One of the big oddities of El-Sayed's win in Michigan is that, unlike past elections, it wasn't a North-South divide, but rather East-West. El-Sayed did far better in the UP and West Michigan than many expected. He won't win the UP in the general, but his performance there was outstanding.

Oh my god. Just say it, he's a Muslim and that's what bothers you. Maybe the rest of the party is tired of black voters and the CBC constantly propping up the establishment? Stevens couldn't even do well in Wayne County, WHERE SHE WAS SUPPOSED to. We're moving on here.

One thing I noticed about the El-Sayed race was the vote margin, ~20k, basically remained the same from about 10-15% of the vote onwards. McMorrow's way too late decision to drop out of the race did play a role in his win.

El Sayed's overperformance in SE Michigan may have given McKinney just enough to pick off yet another Democratic incumbent!

I think this proves that you cannot base your entire primary campaign on winning one segment of Democratic voters by crazy margins and lose everything else.

Wayne County now only up +5 for Stevens with 78% in. Not good for Stevens, but gonna be a nail biter. Wow

AIPAC may have taken a big L here, but so did the African American community in Michigan. I'm more disappointed in the latter continually propping up the Democratic establishment. Like, really guys, what are y'all gaining from this? It's a question we need to start asking. Not a good look at all.

With 45% in, this feels like a ~2% win for El-Sayed, +/-3%. Yes, that gives room for Stevens to pull this off. The closest Stevens came was with the Detroit mail-in vote.

Anyone saying that El Sayed is going to win at this point is foolish. There's plenty of vote left, and a lot of positives for Stevens (especially Detroit). But some of the UP results are just stunningly bad for her. Few votes, but in a close race, THAT MATTERS.

Stevens briefly made it a 1-point race with a significant Detroit drop, but now El-Sayed is pulling back above 50 percent again with a third in.

El-Sayed is MASSIVELY overperforming his numbers in the UP of Michigan, in many places 20-30 points higher than his gubernatorial run.

Stevens can very much still pull this off, but there isn't a lot of places where she could viably overperform. Really think by 10-10:30 there will be a pretty clear picture of who's likely to win.

Not surprised Cori Bush did not win back her seat. Am somewhat surprised by the margin of loss though.

DSA may be on the cusp of yet another big night tonight..

Good luck to Abdul El-Sayed today. Out of any of the insurgent candidates, El-Sayed has handled the invective thrown at him the best. His ground game is also probably the best of any of these candidates as well: that's not only important in a primary, but VERY important in a general.
