Second Company of the Krieg 5th Assault Battalion marches on... Watchmaster Arek advances at the head of 9th Platoon, 1st Squad. Their position at the head of the platoon is in recognition of their survival of two previous engagements, and they are determined not to live through a third.

I love painting and playing Warhammer. He/Him - Warhammer is for Everyone. Backdrop books used in my model photos are from Handiwork Games. Primus Tactical Prefect of the Triumvirate High Council of the Imperial Guard.
Had a great Old World game with the Night Goblins taking on the Hochland as I teach a friend the game. As always the contagious panic hurt my poor Ld 5 Gobbos who spent most of the game running away.
This weekend I put together these Justicars, they're really nice models who will be excellent extras for our Inquisimunda encounters. Building them I was thinking about how I could turn these into a really interesting Guard regiment...
Finished my Necromunda market terrain. This will help bring our encounters to life for the Inquisimunda campaign. As an added touch I made one of the stalls red and white striped, matching the town market where I grew up.
I've been watching the Victoria Miniatures Kickstarter with great interest. I've always loved the classic Catachan rules, especially the trap and ambush stuff. But I've never been a fan of the models. What about Catachan rules with the 95th Rifles models... I hope they're released as physical kits.
It's that time again, the end of the month is always spent adding another Krieg squad to my company. This is the start of 9th Platoon.
I think this Imperial Guard wine waiter is my favourite model.
It isn't yet the end of the week, but who doesn't want some more good vibes around the place? Do me a little favour! Quote this post with something you've painted that you're proud of, or you just really like. Doesn't have to be your best, just something that makes you smile when you see it!
My Red Corsairs Boarding Actions force is complete. This project has sat around half finished for months, while I found the right bases, so yesterday I got on with it and got the whole lot rebased. These can tie in with my Red Corsairs BFG fleet for some one-off skirmish games and boarding missions.
Been doing a lot of building tonight, all characters and terrain for our Inquisimunda campaign. This is a market set, lots of hive scum converted to be unarmed citizens, traders, and various other characters. This should make a vibrant scene for our next encounter!
Finished my Uruk-Hai. These took a few days longer than planned but still good time, that's a big chunk out of my Pile of Potential and I'm really happy with the way they look, especially the bases (not very good at them normally) and the hand painted white hand markings.
Last night the Helenan security bureau sent a sweep into the slum districts looking for xenos activity. My Inquisimunda gang interrupted a deal between one of the gangs and a GSC, killed three or four scum who tried to run, and also found a trader selling curious artefacts of xenos origin.
"He saw as through a mist a wide flat circle, paved with mighty flags, and surrounded by a crumbling battlement: and in the middle, set upon four Carven pillars, was a high seat, reached by a stair of many steps."
Getting the whole lot of Uruk-Hai done was perhaps a bit ambitious, but most of the hard slog is done. Main thing is I had a lot of fun and learned that a goal is nice once in a while, enjoying the painting is its own reward. Bit of basing and tidying up and they'll be there.
This weekend's challenge is to paint 36 Uruk-Hai scouts plus characters before Sunday night. I just hope I've got enough Agrax Earthshade...

What type of autism did you guys get? I got steam trains.
In our last 40K game, a single Broodlord escaped off the board. So we decided to fight a narrative Kill Team game, where it infiltrated the Stormtrooper operating base where they'd been launching all their Deep Strikes from. Heavy casualties, but eventually the threat was put down.
Finished my Inquisitor warband. These are the operatives of the Helenan Internal Security Bureau, tasked with investigating the recent xenos cult activity on Helena's World. A ragtag bunch of misfits, they'll have to learn to work together to get the job done.
After a long day at work last night I sat down for some hobby time, to come up with two characters for my Inquisimunda warband. First we have Mac, a former stormtrooper with a reputation for getting the job done. Second the secretive Genetor Kyvash, or "Doc", an adept of the Divisio Biologis.
Last night the Steel Legion claimed victory in the next battle of the Crusade. They had to prevent a Tyranid force breaking through a cordon, and escaping the besieged city. Despite some organisms sneaking through, almost all the horde was slain. Those few survivors can't do much damage... right?
A Brimstone-class RSV. Originally developed by the Mordians for crowd control, the twin heavy flamers proved extremely useful in Cityfight warfare, and Colonel Kraus requisitioned three, attaching them to the Mordian 122nd HQ Company.
Unglamorous but important hobby - this weekend I rebased all my Mordor Orcs to be on grey rocky bases. This means they now fit with the Men of Númenor, and the terrain and board. What a slog, but now it will look even better fighting that Last Alliance scenario.
Working on some crew for the flamethrower Centaur, loving the way these are coming together. Took the flamer off to paint it separately, but it just looks like he's firing an enormous flamer from the shoulder.
Converted a new Steel Legion officer - this is Colonel Tyrens of the Steel Legion 235th Mechanised. I used a classic Cadian officer's body and the head from one of the old Basilisk crew.
I love it when a Made To Order you forgot about arrives out of the blue. Hats off to the postie who must have thought I'd been ordering lead ingots through the post. Currently in a deep dive assembling all the models I'll need to fight the Ambush at Amon Hen.
Everyone has a favourite Commissar model. Mine is this old metal one, I think it's the slightly understated clothes and pose. Plus that riding crop in the other hand. This one will be joining my Mordian Iron Guard, making sure they are as disciplined in mind as they are in body.
Prince Carl-Friedrich of Graffenspitze is the Archduke's second cousin, which explains why he has become a lieutenant colonel in Las-Fusilier-Regt. No. 5, despite mysteriously being expelled from the Apraxian Military Academy. He has not added to the lustre of his career in the intervening decades.
It was flamethrowers! Twin heavy flamer half track, converted by the desperate Mordians trapped in Vardane City. Have to say the guesses were all brilliant ideas, and I'll definitely be picking more up to try some new conversions.
There's nothing quite like sitting down with a plastic kit with an open bitz box, and just playing with parts until you get a flash of inspiration and run with it. Any guesses what this Centaur RSV is going to be equipped with? Answer to follow...

My Steel Legion are about to start a new Crusade, so I'm adding a few more specialist units to the roster before they take the field. These three classic metal snipers will let me take out specialists and characters. Remember these models of old, and the great chance to paint camo they presented.
Had a good game of Horus Heresy last night - my Iron Warriors took on a force of Blood Angels which had succumbed to the Black Rage. They recklessly pushed forwards, and although I inflicted much heavier casualties, I also abandoned objectives too early on and lost 08-12. A great game.
