Paper maps are great. Never run out of juice, let you see the close up detail and the big picture at the same time (because they're three feet wide, unlike your phone), and the more you use them the more you learn your way around without them, unlike obeying a machine.

#BadAlgorithms - I just learned (several days late, because credit card issuing bank didn't notify me) that bank blocked my credit card because I bought a book (from the publisher). Their "fraud" misdetection algorithm flagged this as a suspicious or unusual transaction. How often do I buy books?
