Our public activities are now on an indefinite pause. While we continue to be on the lookout for effective ways forward, we're thankful for all the connections we've made and the opportunities to lend a helping hand we've had in the meantime 💙🩷🤍

An initiative to let trans people in the UK survive and thrive under state oppression, and rebuild a vision for our place in the new era. effecttrans.com
The first ET office hours of 2026 is this Saturday, from 1-4 PM - do come say hi if you'd like to meet us :) Link below
The Levy review of NHS adult dysphoria services is out. While there has not been time yet for a deeper analysis, at a glance it's relieving to see that the fears at large have not come to pass www.england.nhs.uk/long-read/op...
and again, fortnightly, this time Saturday 20th December, 1-4 pm – pop in any time event: luma.com/ijdjz0bh calendar: luma.com/effecttrans

Making connections continues to be one of the most effective actions one can take for the long term and thus come to meet us, chat, discuss, find out what we're up to, at ET office hours, in Holborn, London, this Saturday 1pm! and fortnightly luma.com/lmaznc06 Calendar: luma.com/effecttrans
Nearly 2 years ago someone posted an NHS surgeons list for sex-affirming surgery on r/transgenderUK. When we couldn't find an updated version anywhere, we contacted NHS Arden Gender Dysphoria National Referral Support Services directly and got the current list. Link below :)

Liberal Currents has featured a well-written article on how the @EHRC's recent actions regarding its guidance on accessing single-sex spaces in the UK have led to chaos for both trans people and many businesses trying to comply with the law.
The fifth iteration of ET's office hours is this coming Saturday! Do come if you'd like to find out more about our longer-term mission and meet the people involved! As usual, there will be ducks!!
Many people were unaware of what was going on with FWS vs Scotland and as a result, our complacency has cost us our rights. The TERFs had been growing powerful, and most activism efforts ended up polarising allies and failing the community.
We're hosting the fourth iteration of ET's office hours today! Join us to discuss recent happenings affecting trans people in the UK and meet interesting people who want to do something to help the community. There will be ducks :) Luma link below ⬇️
Electrolysis for facial hair removal/ SRS is vital to many transfeminine transitions. It is the only permanent method, and the only method suited for pale hair. It is however difficult to access, as a full course can be lengthy (100~200 sessions) and costly (£10~20k).
We've been working on our wiki behind the scenes, focusing on gathering more info on gender-critical movements & more transition-related resources... If you're interested in helping us (and meeting other trans people), pop in today at Office Hours! Holborn, London, 1-4pm.
We've been a bit quiet recently, but that doesn't mean we haven't been at work – you should expect more from us soon (we have something interesting to say about Sex Matters operations...) in the meantime, if you're interested in us, pop in this Sat! Holborn, London, 1-4pm link⬇️
We have been collecting these papers for a long time to uncover more details about the opaque workings of gender clinics, for more information do check out our Levy Review wiki page: wiki.effecttrans.com/index.php/Le...
September board papers from Devon Partnership NHS Trust reveal some interesting points: www.dpt.nhs.uk/download/sep... 1/
Excellent news! Facts-based pressure can and does work
BREAKING NEWS: I am thrilled to be able to report that after a discussion with JPAC, JPAC has agreed to update it's position statement to make it clear that trans people haemoglobin levels should be tested against their hormonal levels, not their Sex at Birth. 1/7

Hello! If you are interested in our project work, want to engage in discussions, or simply meet us in person, you can pop in this Saturday for our 'office hours' in Holborn, London! From 1 to 4 pm. (Repeats fortnightly)
People who underwent all the legal and surgical steps in the UK to change their sex were betrayed by the CPS, NHS, the Labour Govt and the Supreme Court. We lost all of our ground to mass hysteria, letting the state walk back on its promises. Do we have a plan to regain our ground?
I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset. In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia. In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)

On that note, the NHS generally does not believe in the existence of medical transition A post-op friend had a UTI recently, and checked the NHS article for guidance (those articles are good generally!). What does it say? that male guidelines apply of course
In July 2024, NHS Blood & Transplant changed their policy to test trans peoples haemoglobin levels exclusively like their sex at birth against scientific consensus. 2/7
The NHS can't have it both ways. It can't say that we are simultaneously and unchangeably our sex at birth and then prevent us from blood donation based upon our identities. Quantum genders aren't real. It's time for the NHS to accept biological reality...
Together, we can change NHS policy and deliver an inclusive blood donation policy. If you'd like to read further into my investigation, the full document is available here: docs.google.com/document/d/1... Any enquiries please contact me: RebeccaJones03LD@gmail.com 7/7
Everyone's talking about the EHRC guidance banning trans people from single-sex spaces like toilets + changing rooms... but there is another looming threat in the Levy Review TL;DR expected very soon; separate under-25 pathway, lays the groundwork for more gatekeeping in the NHS
having spent 3 hours last night on this - there is no version of this story that involved bra fitting - there is no version of this story that involved undressing - neither the SC ruling nor the proposed EHRC Code of Practice say anything about shop sections
EHRC interim guidance, the Reform prison debate, M&S apologising for trans employees doing their jobs. Discrimination against trans people was once illegal. Now it's a question of whether it's illegal NOT to discriminate against us.
Our next Effective Transsexualism meetup in London is on the 17th of August !! Do come along if you'd like to join our network of trans people and discuss how we can improve research, advocacy and mutual aid in order to benefit our trans siblings in the UK!!
Newest update: Our website now includes a writings page! The two inaugural short posts come from @mayaofspring.bsky.social, reflecting some topics we discussed at our Newspeak House meetups
We are being very effective at Trans Pride London 2025 !!
hello! We're at gathering at London Trans Pride today!
