Friend: Cable modems are ancient technology. Me: Actually, hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) is an incredible technology that remains more than relevant today! It delivers speeds well beyond what a typical residential user would ever need for 1/3rd the cost! And on a well maint — hey, where are you going?

Me: I need to find more ways to relax. Also Me: So anyway, I decided I wanted a website. I've not built one using HTML and CSS before, so I just kinda did that this afternoon.
I would love to know what percentage of a posts on a given social media platform are complaining about that social media platform. And then see the breakdown by platform. It would be amusing to see, "X% of active users on this platform hate being active users on this platform."
I knew I had Something going on with my gender, but it felt like something I could ignore. And then I got my ears pierced. Seeing myself in the mirror with that feminine element demolished any ability I had to ignore my feelings. At that point, it became, "Well, I do this, or I remain miserable."
Why did you transition? Right answers only. I had suspected maybe I was trans for at least 15 years. I had KNOWN I was trans for about 5-6 years. After going through a divorce, I got to a point where I knew I had to at least TRY, or I would regret it forever.
"I'M SO TIRED OF PEOPLE ON LINKEDIN TALKING ABOUT TOPICS THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!" Friend, you're gonna be Big Mad when I introduce you to the entirety of human culture, history, and experience... Talking about topics we know nothing about is... kind of Our Thing.
Having a nice digital camera means that you can take tremendously silly photos of your dog that still have a strange air of gravitas. #photo #photography #dog #dslr
"I'm not trans! It's normal for cis men to want to be women because being a woman would be so much better... "...hold on, other men *don't* think that?"
"Of course I'm not trans. Every man thinks every day about what it would be like to be a woman. Don't they?"
I thoroughly don't understand why people use LLMs to generate their LinkedIn posts... What's the goal? They have to know that readers can tell, right? Why would someone read or engage with something an algorithm wrote? But... then again... this is the post that inspired this complaint...
Me: I absolutely don't have bandwidth for a new hobby Also me, not 1 minute later: what if I learned how to build my own website from scratch
You know what's fun? Seeing your new name on official documents. The legal name change process is somewhat onerous, but it's absolutely worth it for the trans joy that comes along with it.
Maybe spending $300 on a new tattoo would fix me.
"I spent hours writing a newsletter issue! What do you think?" LinkedIn: [crickets] _____________________________ "I grew a singular tomato!" LinkedIn: [Over 1.6K impressions; 35+ reactions; 19 profile views; 1 new follower] Y'all, I give up at optimizing for social media.
Other People on LinkedIn: "Here is my well-considered think piece, demonstrating my prowess in this sector." Me: "I GREW A TOMATO AND HAD A SANDWICH!"
This one was a fun opportunity to play with lighting a bit – both when taking the shot but also in post. #photo #photography #flower

Others: I asked Claude to make me a website, and it made me a full-blown website and app with functional usage tracking! Me: I asked Claude to help me figure out if a tomato was ripe. It made up a source, denied doing so, and then gaslit me about it for 3 rounds before admitting the lie.
Me: my tummy feels funny 🧠: could it perhaps have anything to do with the fact that you had ice cream for lunch Me: what no why would you think that 🧠: I hate it here
Took pictures of some dogs at the farmers market again this morning, and this is my favorite. Partly because it’s an adorable shot. But *mostly* because I ACTUALLY MANAGED TO GET ALL OF THE CRITICAL FEATURES OF THE PUP IN FOCUS FOR ONCE?!
Look, I haven't read the article yet, but embedding AI engineers *inside* customers feels like some Alien-level shenanigans that might not go over so well with customers. (Linking the article given that I'm making a joke at it's expense: www.geekwire.com/2026/microso...)
AI Influencers: LLMs will be fully autonomous within weeks! They are already performing better than any human experts! Any AI When I Use It:

Efficiency has a cost. Is it worth it? In this newsletter, I discuss how our modern, efficiency-focused organization design came to be, and why I think our design choices are terrible. What do you think? eliseisoverthinkingit.beehiiv.com/p/issue-6-bu...

More frequently than one might expect, I end up reading at the local queer bar while waiting on friends to arrive. Which is how I ended up reading a book of theology while “Alejandro” was blasting over the speakers. I don’t think High School Me would be able to process my current life.
