Remember, Kevin Feige has bosses whom he has to answer to, so don't automatically point the finger at him if you feel women and people of colour are being marginalised at Marvel. Chrissake, he was pushing for more diverse heroes back when Perlmutter was his boss.
Destin Daniel Cretton says that it isn’t Kevin Feige's fault that ‘WONDER MAN’ was cancelled. “If the business was right, we would be making that show because I know [Feige] loves that show as much as I do.” (Source: www.thewrap.com/creative-con...)
Unlikely, sir. They spell and pronounce their names differently.
Is Ryan Gosling the Next Tom Cruise?
RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. (i don't believe you!)
Sony CEO Tom Rothman says they never saw their Spider-Man spin-off films as part of a universe. “We never looked at it as the “Sony-Marvel Universe.” We looked at if there were worthwhile movies to make with other characters.“ (via variety.com/2026/film/ne...)
Also, the current CEO of Sony is the same jackass who made stupid studio-destroying decisions while he was in charge of Fox during the 00s. If this movie zigged where X-Men 3 zagged, I doubt it's because Tom Rothman has grown as an executive in the past 20 years.
They still suck the dick off Sony for making Spider-Verse whilst being the ones responsible for why they hate MCU Spider-Man. Name something you hate about MCU Spider-Man. Name all of them. Sony made that happen. Not even joking.
Hey, neo-Objectivists? Yeah you, the ones who are against Steve Ditko's baby being anything more than a lone wolf? Fuck off.
The MCU Will Never Let Spider-Man Shine on His Own
Why was Harry Osborn suspiciously absent from Spider-Man: No Way Home
Most of the Marvel films made by Fox are grossly overrated except for Logan. I cannot wait until Disney officially declares that the Fox stuff is gone forever so we can just get on with a new version without sex offender stink.
X-Men: The Last Stand is one of the worst comic book films ever made and I refuse to hear out any attempted revisionism from people who clearly haven't actually rewatched the film in recent years.
What's really funny to me after all that "MCU ass dialogue" discourse is the movies that made the most money feature protagonists most guilty of said dialogue. 😂
Every MCU film to gross over $1B after the release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ 💰 • ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ • ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ • ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ • ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Hell, I'd agrue Brand New Day's themes were the antithesis to this line of thinking. Peter spends the whole movie sheltering himself and as a result, things get worse because of it. Every bad thing that happens to Peter in the movie is a result of him clinging to the past and being miserable
People like HiTops think this is only good Spider-man story, there's no next chapter. It's always Peter being sad, almost quitting and start again... It's good for a movie, but you can't tell the same story over and over again. How many times we gonna see uncle Ben die, Gwen Stacy die...
Sony CEO Tom Rothman says there are currently no live-action ‘SPIDER-MAN’ spin-offs in the works. “Ultimately, the audience wasn’t satisfied enough with them. Whether that’s a fair assessment of those movies, who knows.” (via variety.com/2026/film/ne...)
"But how can you have no interest in Michael Bay's Transformers? Don't you LIKE dumb fun movies with giant robots?" Mate, I saw Iron Giant in the cinema as a kid. I think my personal bar for giant robot movies is a little higher than the oeuvre of Michael Bay.
SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Someone actually asks the "why didn't Thanos use the Infinity Stones for good?" question, so Marvel clearly heard you.
So many of the answers to the "what villain was right" post are disturbingly wrong. Especially Thanos. Dude genocided half of all life and killed countless people before that because he thought that it would be prosperous. He was not right.
Why do I get the feeling some people are gonna spin this as a win for Sony and Sony alone?
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is opening with ~$875M at the global box office 🕷️ Second biggest opening weekend of all time 💰
>COVID/Streaming Imdustry effects >Writer's strike >Blade goes through four different directors that had creative differences with Ali >Hatedom spent the past 7 years nitpicking every single thing about POC/Female Led projects for clicks "Why does Kevin Feige hate black people?"

Well, the movie did largely serve as a deconstruction of the lone wolf hero that the "Steve Ditko is the only true creator of Spider-Man" crowd seems to venerate. Spidey, the Punisher and [REDACTED] work alone, and they are MISERABLE. They get better when they socialise with others.
Tom Holland on the main message he hopes people take away from watching ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ “You’re never truly alone. Sometimes in life, the bravest thing you can do is ask for help.” (via thatgrapejuice.net/entertainmen...)
I have seen crap movies and I have seen "meh" movies...and I choose "meh" every fucking time.
Y'know, assuming the Raimiverse stans who are still bitter that Tobey Maguire got recast twice after three movies don't try to shift the consensus.
There's a good chance we might be looking at the first movie to make $3 billion unajusted for inflation, especially since, for the first time in god knows how long, Spidey fans seem to unanimously love this movie.
I don't want to hear anymore arguments on this topic. Tom Holland cemented himself as the BEST Spider-man. The goat. No one understands this character better. 🕸️ #BrandNewDay
I mean, you gotta grade on a curve when it comes to movies. Y'know, assuming you've seen more than two movies.
A big problem I have with modern "criticism" is how people now think that average means bad. Anything less than an 8/10 or 9/10 means that it is on par with something actually awful. Everything has to be either "absolute cinema" or "the worst thing ever made" with no room in between.
No-context spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but I imagine Kevin Feige had this to say to Tom Rothman, considering [REDACTED].
I mean, have you actually watched the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films and NOT skipped through the boring bits? Said boring bits usually involve Kirsten Dunst as MJ (not that I blame the actress). Even TASM had a better romantic subplot than the Raimiverse films. Zendaya as MJ ultimately wins.
Mfs really out here talking about waiting for the "real MJ" and saying these two have no chemistry simply because MJ is Black. Tom Holland and Zendaya KILL these parts fr.
Fortunately, DODC doesn't have jurisdiction in Wakanda. ...right?
I just realized that Marvel has two groups in the MCU that are allegories for I.C.E. The Department of Damage Control (DODC) and Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) I wonder if it works like real life and after the AVTF was shut down, a bunch of the non incarcerated ones went to work for DODC.
I have so much to say about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but out of courtesy, I will not spoil anything here. If you're interested, please DM me.
And another home run from Marvel. Also, kudos to Sadie Sink. You were excellent.
*THWIP! THWIP! THWIP! THWIP!* Spider-Man! Where are you coming from? Spider-Man! Nobody knows who you are! *THWIP! THWIP! THWIP! THWIP!*
RE: Mahershala Ali walking away from Marvel Studios Remember, if you were simping for Wesley Snipes in Deadpool and Wolverine and applauding loudly at his "there's only gonna be one Blade" line... YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
