When he read with Sarah they had this great chemistry and we knew instantly we had finally found our actress. We will be having a private screening of trip. Comin
Jay actually started out as a member of the crew – he was helping us audition Caseys, and he just really fell into the role of Gavin, organically.
It was I think the weekend before shooting and we were panicking. We got a message from Sarah who was planning to drive from Chicago to Dayton, Ohio for a student film. What did we have to lose?
This was my first film. I made it in film school. We almost didn't think we would have a lead actress. As it was, very few people auditioned, despite our crew traveling to Kentucky, Columbus, and beyond for auditions. #filmsky

I say this a lot but when I started in the comics industry, for whatever reason, there were almost no women working as creators in mainstream comics. Quite a few in indie books and some behind the scenes. But not many with their name on the front of a DC/Marvel book. The legends had left.
hree shows that could be on television, but don't have the funding. THE PARK It's 1985 in the Midwest. Gina, a blind woman in her late 30s, is just trying to raise her kids and granddaughter in an aging trailer.
I deleted this thread because I’m sleepy and want to say it better, but the message was, creatives, be sure to make your own happiness one of your goals. It’s not selfish to want to be happy in your real life.
We are starting to release the sketches of our lead ensemble for SHADOW SKATING! You can check them out on our PATREON! LINK HERE: www.patreon.com/ElectricMars...
In 2023, we released our latest study into disability representation on television. Here is a screenshot from our zoom event where we presented our data! This is one of the slides. A bit tongue-in-cheek at our disappointment that disabled 2SLGBTQIA people have such little television representation.
This is why the very first TV show we developed is called THE PARK. It's about a Blind woman and her Indigenous neighbor raising their families together in a 1980s trailer park. We are trying to find a producer/funding to make the pilot.

I wanted to also remind people, and also educate people because not everyone knows this, but we have been studying disability representation for at least two decades.
We are looking for funding to make SPACE PIRATES. Not only will it offer the chance for a Deaf queer woman to lead a show (and Sandra is brilliant!), but also to highlight ASL. ASL plays a significant role in the storytelling and we want our cast and crew to be fluent!
