In February, State Auditor Tina Cannon asked a judge to hold the charter school in contempt. Cannon is now asking for an expedited ruling as American Preparatory Academy continues to hide its administrators’ salaries from the public, even though public money is used to pay them.

In other words, not much is going to change at EA.

Continuing my Korean War/Halberstam posting: It’s hard to convey how malignant Douglas MacArthur was, how anti-democratic, what a persistent threat to civil-military relations. Conversely, George Marshall was a man of towering integrity and wisdom.

My FIL was in utter disbelief that a 20-year timeline for citizenship was actually "normal" when following all of the rules. The legal immigration system is and remains intentionally broken.

There is no possible way whatsoever for the vast majority of people throughout the world, including plenty of wealthy, well-educated people who would bring a dramatic net boost to the American economy, to immigrate to the United States and become a citizen in any practical amount of time.

I know many people who went from journalism to PR/lobbying because either their job was eliminated or they could get a way better paycheck on that side of the house. I hate it, but I also can't fault them.

Russian media report that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office has filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court seeking to have Telegram designated as an "extremist" platform and to ban its operations.

A lot of public meetings are basically window dressing. The real conversations were had in private, the public meeting notice doesn't have the important details of the agenda item, and by the time people show up they're told "this is an action meeting, no public comment".
