It goes up and down with ecology - the issue attention cycle Downs identified back in 1972 is currently playing out also in the UK.

This really is quite something. In the 15 years @carbonbrief.org have tracked UK media, 2025 was first ever year where more newspaper editorials opposed #climate action than supported it. Meanwhile, the *actual* climate crisis deepens by the month. Go figure.

Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy. Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks. Those that didn't now pay the price.

Reporter: Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? Trump: It wasn't a depiction. I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor. And had to do with red cross as a red cross worker, which we support and only the fake news could come up with that one.

It took more than 30 years to develop a governance system for climate change. There are some successes (annual UNFCCC COPs, the @ipcc.bsky.social), but it is not efficient. We need a global governance system for AI, but we cannot use 30 years. Geopolitics are stacked against success. What to do?

The only global threat that there is any sort of global governance for is climate change. It's sort of working, but not as effectively as the challenge demands. There is a lot that all concerned about tackling AI's threat to humanity can learn from how climate diplomacy and action has played out.

Peter Magyar confirmed that Szijjarto, Orbán's FM, has barricaded himself with some of his closest colleagues and is shredding documents related to the sanctions on Russia any other evidence of treason.

This is completely insane and he should be impeached. It is also extremely confusing. He writes "God Bless the Great People of Iran!" in the same post as he threatens them with annihilation (although I guess it makes sense in a sick way) and brags about having ushered in regime change (he has not).

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

Hvordan endte vi her?
