AI boosters always say things like "10x engineer" or "100x more productive" but for these things to be true, a 5 year videogame production cycle would have to take 6 months (10x) or less than 3 weeks for 100x. This strikes me as reflecting poorly on the intelligence of people who believe this.

I saw this video a year or two before I played Rhythm Heaven. It contributed to me picking up the Wii entry and becoming a lifelong fan. I find these kind of strange paths to game discovery funny to think about. If I hadn't watched this, would I have gotten into it later? Who can say.

I made fun of the Xbox S All Digital for spelling out SAD, but now with sony ditching disks we are all sad.
I have 100%'d my productivity app. I guess this means it's time to retire.
As someone from Australia where this was already put in place - if you are stuck with Discord, just don't verify your age. You will lose some unimportant features and be able to use it as usual. I can't leave Discord because so much stuff is there, but I'm not handing them my ID.
As early as next month, Discord could enable their global age verification measures. #privacy #ageverification theprivacycloud.substack.com/p/discord-wi...
I legit ran into this in the real world and was like... bro... you are a game developer... what are you doing?
If you make a video about the Cuphead tutorial journalist but don't actually look into the context you should probably just have your channel deleted Just making the world worse by mythmaking irrespective of facts, like with the three women that are still used in every anti-SJW video thumbnail
Hmm, you know, I might not buy this $40 USD T-shirt. Shipping prices are wild sometimes lmao
I straight up believe: 1. All Generative AI should be banned 2. All AI/Machine learning should be banned from responding in a conversational manner. They are tools and should give short, non-humanlike responses like a calculator 3. You should never seek or trust AI's advice on anything
I think people should be very, very careful when leaning ChatGPT or any bot for help navigating relationship issues or any other interpersonal conflict/crisis: futurism.com/chatgpt-marr... futurism.com/artificial-i...
I no longer write about Microsoft games but to my friends who do for practical reasons - I recommend mentioning the boycott! The genocide is relevant because it's a Microsoft published games.
I think if you write about Forza Horizon and you don't at the very barest minimum mention the BDS boycott against Microsoft and Xbox - especially if you CHOSE to do so - you're abdicating your responsibility to your audience to give them everything they need to know for their purchasing decisions.
Don't wanna single any one game out but I see this all the time - A Steam game description reads: "___ is a [genre name] but with a unique twist that will make you feel like a speedrunner." What is the unique twist? You're not building mystique here, you're trying to get me interested.
Last night while trying to get to sleep I thought up a good tweet. This is not that tweet because I no longer remember the tweet. This is just a tribute to the slightly above average tweet I was going to make.
Check out this showcase by my friends at Second Wind! Should have a bunch of cool indie games for me to add to my wishlist.
It's almost time for the Second Wind Games Showcase powered by @playtracker.bsky.social! Premiere page is now live for you to set a reminder to be there on time for tons of announcements, reveals and even the reveal trailer for our very own Season 5 of Adventure is Nigh! See you soon!
I’m fucking crying dude. Asking “pretty please do not introduce a security vulnerability”.
neuromatch.social/@jonny/11632... Look at this detailed analysis of Anthropic's leaked "100% generated by Claude" code, just pigshit awful absolutely unmaintainable garbage
Wish their movies were more like their games for sure. Playing Mario is surprising, delightful, fast paced, and challenging. A movie that kept throwing ideas at you with a sense of fun, wonder and momentum sounds great. I haven't bothered to watch either Mario movie because they sound boring.
Sorry to say that The Mario Galaxy Movie sucks. What I find so disheartening about it is that I think if Nintendo stuck to (the cinematic equivalent of) the principles that made its games so great, the films would be so much more interesting. Read my full review here: kotaku.com/super-mario-...
Every time I see a bad take, I want to tweet. And yet I do not tweet, because if I did, I would never stop tweeting.
Just saw someone with a Kit Fisto numberplate. Imo that's the closest you can legally get to a Glup Shitto numberplate and I don't know if that's a good thing.
this is the only thing I will accept for the pombon evolutions
AI is always doing stuff everyone says they could do. "I could write a novel" but you didn't. you got a robot to do it for you so you could spend more time cleaning the house or whatever it is humans are good for Controversial opinion, but art is fun and robots should do the boring stuff
I once again prove myself to be the luckiest mario kart player
Glad to see new Overwatch announcements but I'm still boycotting Microsoft's gaming division with BDS. I won't be covering any Microsoft stuff, paying for it, or playing either, and I recommend anyone who wants to does the same.
This week I have seen two announcements on Steam from indie teams announcing they're shutting down and removing their games from sale at the end of January. Industry is doing great, thanks
I played Dispatch (and enjoyed it quite a bit) but it made me think about my depression a lot. Next year I will have had depression for more than half my life. Yippee!
