People aren’t faking their disabilities, they’re faking being well. We know society hates us. We know we will be judged for using assistive devices. Many of us take years to get the courage to lean in to accommodations. Stop judging. Help us build a more inclusive world.

Disabled people make society uncomfortable. Left or right…. It doesn’t matter. People want to believe it can’t happen to them. That if they become disabled there will be a magic “fix”. We challenge their denial, so they deny us solidarity and support. That’s ableism.

I got to show my grandmother my dress and her engagement/wedding ring, which she passed on to me. I’m so disappointed for her that she won’t be there in person but I’ll never forget how happy she looked to see me in my dress and see her ring on my finger 🥹 there are still good memories to be found

I get married later this week but my grandmother caught pneumonia in her rehab facility and is back in the hospital. I’m just so crushed for her 😞 I wanted to give her a really nice memory of us all together. I’ll still try to make it special for her but yeah, I’m just really sad 💔

When I visited France, I had to go to Provence to see if the lavender fields there were as beautiful as I had heard. They were, indeed! I was immediately captivated by the rolling plains of purple lavender rows. Hills of Provence by Erin Hanson, 2026 Oil on canvas 28 x 36 in #art #impressionism

When I visited France to visit the locales the impressionists had painted, I had to stop by Provence to see if the lavender fields there were as beautiful as I had heard. When I drove up onto the high and windy plateaus of Provence, with the Swiss Alps far in the distance, I was immediately captivated by the rolling plains of purple lavender rows. This painting captures the feeling of being in Provence, surrounded by beauty in every direction.

The thing about courage is that it’s contagious.

I have made the decision to withdraw as a support act for Ed Sheeran's 'The Loop' North American Tour.
I don't take the decision lightly. Ed has been a friend to me and has changed my life, I could never thank him enough for this.
But as Irish people we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation.
I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder of children.
I would lose all respect for myself to carry on as normal.
I need to be true to myself and my ancestors who resisted colonisation, and fought for a freedom that I enjoy today in Ireland.

It's hard to watch families in other parts of the world burying the people they love.
We should be able to speak about war, about civilians being killed, about children who deserve to grow up. Wherever they live. Whatever flag flies over them.
I grew up in Christiania, a small community in Denmark where speaking your mind was part of everyday life. Having more money didn't make your opinion worth more than anyone else's.
Money doesn't give you the right to own the conversation.
Nobody's bank balance should decide who gets to speak or which suffering we're allowed to acknowledge.
i love Ed, and i'm grateful for everything we've shared. That hasn't changed. But I can't put these words out into the world and carry on with this tour as things stand. We're withdrawing from the remaining dates.
I'm sorry we won't be there. This is a difficult decision, but it's one I need to stand by.

I visited Tipsoo Lake in Mt. Rainier National Park on the hunt for mountain reflections and alpine wildflowers. The cloudy sky prevented any reflections of Mt. Rainier, but I did discover an abundance of wildflowers! This painting captures the beautiful blooms up close, in impressionistic color. Thick brushstrokes of oil paint laid side by side, without layering, create a mosaic or stained-glass appearance in the landscape.

After Rosemary’s release, the community was overwhelmed by emotions and experiences they had never known before. The Giver says he was too overwhelmed by grief to help the rest of the community make sense of the memories. Her death left The Giver lonely and hopeless for many years.

Hearing about Rosemary also helps Jonas understand what love and suffering really mean. The Giver tells Jonas that he loved Rosemary just as he loves Jonas. Her story shows how cruel it is for one person to carry all the pain and memory of humanity alone. It also helps inspire Jonas and The Giver’s plan to change the community by returning memories to everyone.
