Pritzker: So here’s the truth, plain and simple: Our state is under siege. Not by protesters, immigrants, the deep state, the press, Canada or Mexico or Greenland, Antifa or Jewish space lasers or pride parades. No. Our state's under siege by a petty, corrupt man in Washington.

Gov. Pritzker: I have to find money that we don’t have to fight problems that didn’t exist before Donald Trump. I’m not the only one.

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country. Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high. Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record. Noticing a pattern?

When this nation’s first president chopped down one cherry tree, he was honest and contrite. When the current president chopped down a slew of cherry trees, he did so in violation of a court order—and didn’t give a shit.

Whoa! Pentagon officials are warning of Navy payroll shortfalls after funds meant for service member pay were raided to help cover war costs. 📌 An official says they had to use “imaginative” workarounds to avoid the shortfall.

What the hell is happening in Florida?? This is absolutely horrifying! These children will be expected to function like sane adults in a system that failed them. How do they stand a chance after being tortured? Throw away the key! 🤬 #Pinks #SheShed

An ICE agent charged with shooting a man in Minneapolis after lying about it was released from a Texas jail.  It's clear that the Trump Administration and DHS lie, act with impunity, reject checks and balances, and ignore Congress and the Courts.

Christian Castro, the ICE agent charged with shooting and injuring a man in Minneapolis, has been released from a jail in Texas after a federal judge denied Minnesota’s request to keep him in custody.

Trump cut down cherry trees for which Washington DC is famous for one of his tacky golf courses. He’s planning to sell some of Yosemite Park to a private developer. He’s destroyed the East Wing. He’s threatened to demolish the Kennedy Center. That vulgar slob has no respect for beauty.

Rice: The world is looking at this and seeing the United States and Israel throwing the military kitchen sink at Iran and failing. So it’s more than the lies and the bluster and the memes and the threats. It’s the real perception of a weakened American deterrence…

🇨🇦 FORD: "I've received numerous calls from governors saying we're always going to call it Lake Ontario. And obviously, Canada is always going to call it Lake Ontario. So, that's our message to Trump. And we’ll never back down from a bully. Ever.”

Sometimes I can’t even fully process the catastrophe that RFK Jr. has unleashed upon the United States. It is infuriating and demoralizing that tens of thousands of scientists and healthcare professionals banded together to oppose his confirmation, and Republicans just blithely ignored us all.

🎉 WIN: A slate of anti-voting measures in North Carolina is unlikely to take effect before the midterms — thanks to voters taking action. The GOP-controlled elections board approved stricter mail voting standards and ID requirements despite public criticism. Here's how the public fought back:

Public objections pause new voting restrictions in North Carolina – at least for now

The voting restrictions approved by the Republican-controlled Rules Review Commission include tightening ID requirements to register to vote and stricter mail voting standards.

Elias Law Group is currently litigating 83 voting and election cases across 42 states + DC. Georgia has the most with 9, followed by Florida, Louisiana, Virginia and DC. The only states with zero: Alaska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming.

A federal judge in California says the U.S. government is unconstitutionally silencing critics of Israel's war in Gaza and others as part of the Trump administration's quest to deport noncitizens who it says disrupted college campuses while expressing their views. https://to.pbs.org/4chWtIo

5 measles deaths in 2 years is too many when we have a vaccine that is 97% effective at preventing infection. It’s ghoulish to dismiss the tragedy of these deaths.

More than 60 trees have been cut down at the East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C., raising alarms among preservationists ahead of a planned golf course overhaul backed by President Donald Trump.

Note the more immediate thing folks are missing abt these stories is that Elon was declared to have broken GA mail-in ballot law, he was referred for bribery prosecution (but not charged), and is being sued under two different theories, one stiffing workers, another fraud.

More than a few people have assumed Axios would have an especially slanted view on this, but pretty much every piece about Musk diving into the midterms ignores, well… all of it.
