Interested in where the neuromodulator histamine in the developing brain comes from? 🔗 Read our new full paper (early release): tinyurl.com/bdfchb53 🙌 Congrats to Ricardo and the whole team for all the hard work?! #Neuroscience #Histamine #Striatum#TouretteSyndrome #OCD #JournalOfNeuroscience
Histamine originating from the BNST modulates corticostriatal synaptic transmission during early postnatal development
The neuromodulator histamine regulates key processes in many circuits of the adult and developing brain, including striatum. However, striatal innervation by histaminergic afferents is very sparse mak...

Happy birthday cake from master student - every star is one for the significance level he hopes to get for his data (to be collected)!
A warm welcome Zoë van Acker and our new master students Alexander Torfs and Liam Downs who recently joined the ENU lab on a cold campus!
The MSc in Neuroscience students (www.uantwerpen.be/en/study/pro...) visited the lab to observe patch clamping and learned the art of the gigaseal!
Check out our pre-print: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... Explored whether mast cells could provide a source of histamine in the developing basal ganglia but found them by the hippocampus instead! Here preliminary data would suggest they could impact synapses independently of histamine.
