No matter how bad philosophy Q&As seem if you go to one public lecture or (god forbid) live podcast recording and see what the Q&A is like you will leave thinking philosophers are goddamn Q&A geniuses

It used to be that the best thing to ask in a philosophy Q&A was “Why?”, but now the meta has developed so that this can easily be countered with “Why not?”. They’ve been talking about nerfing “So what?” as well but for now it’s pretty OP

Let’s be honest. If Philosophy hasn’t been ‘liquidated’, Sociology will not be. For all the criticisms, at least Sociologists collect data. Meanwhile the Philosophy people just make things up out of thin air. Just whatever they want. Doesn’t matter.

Possibly just being a hater but I really don’t think outside of extreme cases the size of the screen matters to the movie watching experience because my brain just gets used to whatever size it is within a few minutes and it ceases to make a difference

There's something so annoying about when Time cannot even pick a person for their own person of the year award, an obligation they have invented for themselves. It's like if I told you to ask me my favourite movie and I said "French new wave"

If they sincerely thought about it for two seconds, they'd probably come to the conclusion that it's worth it to accept some false positives here to avoid false negatives and stop caring about this immediately.

Something I have realized from playing some really difficult games recently and managing to get zen about losing over and over is that difficulty doesn't automatically become fun if you overcome the frustration part--something can be very difficult and also very boring
