Developing “Times of Progress” with #rustlang & #bevy Steam: https://cutt.ly/fwSagz1u Presskit: https://cutt.ly/swSaksbv Newsletter: https://cutt.ly/Kevjy1gL

And the Beta of Times of Progress is now over! I think it definitely served its purpose: - it gave a better idea about the game to the participants. - it gave an excellent snapshot for me to know where the game stands right now and what needs to be improved. Thank you to all the participants!

Less than 12 hours left for the beta! If you haven't played it yet, you still have a bit of time to give it a go. I'll spend the day going through the feedback. It's a lot to parse but some common pain points have clearly emerged lol.

Update on the beta: Thank you so much for all the feedback so far! It's amazing how people take their time to try the game and write their thoughts. So far the summary is: "It has potential but some UX / UI choice is questionable" lol. Prioritising what to fix first will be a good challenge.

🚂 The beta of Times of Progress has started!! 🚂 Looking forward to your feedback! (I'll very patiently wait for it and definitely not refresh the analytics every few minutes)

Times of Progress got charts! 📈 It was relatively straight-forward to implement with Bevy: spawn the chart data on a separate RenderLayer via bevy_vector_shapes. Point a separate camera at it, render to texture and show the texture in the UI. #bevy #gamedev

I had some trouble with the location of UI to show more info during building placement. Initially it was in the bottom right corner but no tester was looking at it. Then I had it follow the building being placed, but it covered too much of the map. I hope this is an OK compromise #ux #ui
