Yorkshireman. Train Driver. Coffee Mostly photos of trains I’ve driven and the railway I work on, especially the old bits that really should be in a museum. And other things.

Happy Yorkshire Day! I’m currently in Middlesbrough, in the north of the county. I will be driving my train south thru the North, East, and West Ridings of Yorkshire, and thru York which was independent of all three, finishing in Doncaster in the south of the County. #Yorkshire

Entirly predictable. I’ve got an idea. Let’s build a brand new railway between Manchester/Leeds thru the East and West Midlands then on to London. We could call it HS2. Oh wait, Angela was against HS2 wasn’t she…

Isn’t it strange that “them the people” have loved all the pollsters over the last year or so, but now we have 3 polls that suggest reform are no longer leading, the pollsters have no idea what they’re doing? Very strange indeed…

Daily Mail, the “last time” there was going to be a pensions tax raid it never happened. You made it up. It was YOU, Daily Mail, who said it was going to happen. It was YOU, Daily Mail, who panicked people into cashing in early. And now YOU are doing it again! STOP IT!

If I see a post in my timeline from someone who is still openly supporting Farage, Tice and Reform, it’s an instant block. By now they can only be trolling, right?

Unpopular opinion: I think rail renationalisation is/will be a disaster. The model of privatisation we had was far from perfect, but all I can see at the moment is the system we had but with added Govt bureaucracy. Designed to fail.

It has to be said, EMR Nottingham, that changing the 2050 Cleethorpes service from 3b to 4b at 2049 is well out of order. It’s a 5 min walk. Why not platform 1?

Never thought I’d have to start muting fellow Labour voters, but the Starmer adoration society is almost as unbearable as Corbyn cultism. Get a grip.

Look, it’s done. You can naval gaze as much as you like, but if Labour doesn’t stick together reform WILL WIN the next election. KS, as much as I like him, was never going to beat reform. However, if you enjoy being a permanent party of protest, please continue…

Had an hour round the back at York today, booked so not unexpected, so had a little look at York Yard South. The late 1950s seems to be the last time this yard had a major remodel.
